Vinh Long Provincial Fatherland Front Committee presents more than 5,000 Tet Chol Chnam Thmay gifts to Khmer people
Vinh Long - More than 5,000 gifts with a total budget of billions of VND were given, helping Khmer people celebrate the warm and meaningful Chol Chnam Thay Tet.
According to a report from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh Long province, from December 6th to 4th, the whole province has deployed the distribution of more than 5,000 gifts to care for the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay Tet for Khmer ethnic people, with a total budget of billions of VND.
The Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province has coordinated with levels and sectors to organize many delegations to visit, congratulate and give gifts to Khmer people in the area. At the same time, proactively mobilize businesses, organizations, and philanthropists to participate in taking care of Tet for people, contributing to mobilizing more socialized resources.
Notably, through coordination with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the companionship of units and businesses, the program to visit and give gifts to monks, poor households and Khmer policy families was organized thoughtfully. Here, 50 gifts were presented to monks; 100 gifts for poor households and Khmer policy families, with a total budget of 180 million VND.

In addition, through the medical examination and treatment program of the health sector and the support of relevant units, 600 gifts were given to poor, near-poor, and difficult households who are Khmer ethnic people, with a total budget of 300 million VND.
From the Provincial "For the Poor" Fund and contributions from businesses, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee has allocated more than 2.4 billion VND to give 4,958 gifts to poor households, near-poor households, and households in particularly difficult circumstances who are Khmer ethnic people.
From socialized sources, the province has allocated 100 million VND to support water storage tanks for affected people in An Hiep and Ba Tri communes; 100 million VND to award 100 scholarships to disadvantaged students in coastal border areas...
In parallel, member organizations of the Front such as the Women's Union, Youth Union, Farmers' Union, Veterans Association and Trade Union also deployed many practical activities. Trade unions at all levels promote care for union members and workers in difficult circumstances; coordinate with businesses to organize social security activities, support Tet gifts, contributing to sharing difficulties with workers who are Khmer ethnic people.
In addition, many meaningful models such as "0-dong Kitchen", "0-dong Meal", awarding scholarships, supporting livelihoods... continue to be maintained and replicated.
Practical and timely activities along with the joint efforts of the business community and organizations have contributed to consolidating the great national unity bloc, helping Khmer people celebrate the traditional Tet in a warm and meaningful atmosphere.
