To celebrate the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2026), on July 27, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Ho Chi Minh City organized a meeting program to express gratitude and care for social security for Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, people with meritorious services to the revolution and policy families.
Speaking at the program, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City - expressed his deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, people with meritorious services to the revolution and policy families who sacrificed and contributed for the independence and freedom of the nation.
Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc emphasized that throughout the leadership and development process, the Party Committee, the administration of the government, the participation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and people's organizations of the city have comprehensively, comprehensively, and regularly implemented policies for people with meritorious services to the country, identifying this as the highest policy among all the highest policies of the Party and State for people with meritorious services in Ho Chi Minh City; linking the implementation of policies for people with meritorious services with the good traditional morality of "Drinking water, remembering the source", "Gratitude", synchronously with social security policies and military rear policies in the city.
Commending individuals and collectives for their positive contributions to the 500 Days and Nights Campaign
Notably, at the program, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City awarded Certificates of Merit to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hoa Hung ward and 9 individuals who made many positive contributions in the 500 days and nights Campaign to promote the search, repatriation and identification of martyrs' remains.

As one of the individuals commended at the program, Mr. Phan Van Mua - a witness who provided important information to help functional forces determine the burial location of the martyrs at Le Thi Rieng Park - said that the memory of the General Offensive and Uprising of Tet Mau Than 1968 is still deeply imprinted in his mind.
He recounted that after days of fierce fighting, he witnessed many bodies being transported by cars to the Do Thanh Cemetery area (now Le Thi Rieng Park) for mass burial. That memory motivated him many years later to proactively point out the location he had witnessed for the search force.
I just hope to help the State find the martyrs again. I didn't think I would be commended, this is a great honor for me," Mr. Mua emotionally shared.
Mr. Mua also expressed his wish that the campaign will continue to achieve more results, finding more martyrs' remains so that they can soon return to their families after nearly 60 years lying underground.

Also at the program, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc officially launched the Vietnam Fatherland Front in 168 communes, wards, special zones together with socio-political organizations of the city, member organizations and organizations and individuals throughout society to continue to respond to the 500 days and nights Campaign to promote the search, repatriation and identification of martyrs' remains, actively discover, provide information, and consolidate scientific evidence to serve the search, repatriation and identification of martyrs' remains.
