According to the report on the organization of the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026 by the People's Committee of Can Tho City, Tet care work has been deployed synchronously, promptly and to the right beneficiaries.
This Tet holiday, the whole city presented 476,301 gifts to policy beneficiaries, people with meritorious services, poor households, near-poor households, social protection beneficiaries, the elderly, children in difficult circumstances, union members, workers, laborers and other vulnerable groups. The total implementation cost is about 246.3 billion VND (including the central and local budgets and socialized sources).
Organizing the "Trade Union Tet Market" Program, awarding 20,000 gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances with a total value of 19 billion VND. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city and member organizations mobilized to build 76 houses, with a total value of 3.759 billion VND, supporting poor and near-poor households and difficult cases to celebrate Tet in new and spacious houses.
In addition, the "Tet of Compassion" program in 2026 awarded 6,730 gifts, worth 3.444 billion VND. Other Tet care activities, visiting patients and encouraging Tet duty units were implemented with a total budget of 3.825 billion VND.

The highest bonus level recorded 110 million VND/person; the lowest 200,000 VND/person; the average level reached 11.5 million VND/person.
