Union meals are effectively implemented at 39 grassroots unions in the health sector
The 2025 union meal program was effectively implemented by the Vietnam Health Trade Union at 39 grassroots unions, supporting 19,514 union members and workers.
On January 23, the Vietnam Health Trade Union held a Conference to summarize the work of the Trade Union in 2025, and the direction and tasks for 2026. Mr. Huynh Thanh Xuan - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) attended the conference.
In 2025, the work of caring for the material and spiritual lives of union members and workers will be implemented regularly and practically. Grassroots trade unions (CDCS) closely coordinate with counter-level authorities to ensure salary, bonus and related policies for workers. The union meal program was effectively implemented at 39 grassroots unions, supporting 19,514 union members and workers with a total cost of more than 1.18 billion VND, creating an atmosphere of solidarity and cohesion in the unit.
The Vietnam Health Trade Union also promptly supported union members affected by natural disasters, floods and cases of abuse; supported 6 grassroots unions and 54 union members with a total amount of 230 million VND; and launched a fundraising campaign to support people in disaster areas.
In the enterprise sector, the work of negotiating, signing and implementing collective labor agreements (CLAs) continues to be focused on. 98% of enterprise-level trade unions participated in signing the Collective Labor Agreement; 100% of enterprise-level trade unions organized Workers' conferences. Legal consulting activities are enhanced; The legal consulting team of the Vietnam Health Trade Union is enhanced with the participation of officials and experts inside and outside the industry. Speaking at the conference, Mr. Huynh Thanh Xuan - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor acknowledged the achievements of the Vietnam Health Trade Union in 2025. In 2026, Mr. Huynh Thanh Xuan suggested that the Vietnam Health Trade Union should continue to clearly affirm the representative role of the Trade Union organization, taking the care and protection of the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers as the center. Proactively participate in developing and supervising the implementation of policies directly related to health care staff, especially on wages, allowances, working conditions, safety and security in health facilities.
Along with that, it is necessary to promote innovation in the content and methods of trade union activities in a practical and effective direction, focusing on the grassroots. Strengthen the application of information technology and digital transformation in management, operation and organization of activities. Gradually apply digital skills and artificial intelligence to union work, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new situation.
The Vietnam Health Trade Union needs to continue to consider the work of developing union members and building a strong union organization as a key task, focusing on the non-state sector. Linking development in quantity with improving the quality of union members, building trust and real attachment of workers to the trade union organization.
The Vietnam Health Trade Union needs to effectively organize patriotic emulation movements associated with the professional tasks of the health sector, especially the movement of innovation, improving the quality of health care and protection of people in the spirit of Resolution 72 of the Politburo. Thereby, arousing the spirit of responsibility, ethics, innovation and dedication of medical staff and employees in the entire industry.
Proactively and actively participate in the work of building a clean and strong Party and government; do a good job of discovering, training, and introducing outstanding union members to the Party, contributing to building a team of medical staff "both rosy and specialized", meeting the requirements of national development in the new development stage.
Vietnam Health Trade Union needs to actively participate and promote the core role of the Health Trade Union in the activities of the Central Industry Trade Union Emulation Cluster, contributing to the completion of the tasks of the industry and of each unit as well as the movement of workers and civil servants nationwide.
