Bac Ninh: 253 thousand union members and workers benefit from union meals

In 2025, trade union activities in Bac Ninh province will continue to change positively in the context of merging, implementing the arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus; being assessed as the locality that established the commune and ward trade unions the earliest in the country and operating stably and effectively.

Up to now, the Bac Ninh Provincial Federation of Labor is directly managing nearly 2,000 grassroots trade unions of enterprises and public service units that do not receive 100% of their salaries from the state budget with more than 631.5 thousand union members.

The large scale of union members, widely distributed, and large-scale young and large labor force pose many challenges, but with solidarity and efforts, trade unions at all levels in the province have effectively implemented their activities, gradually affirming their role as representatives, caregivers, and protectors of the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers.

The work of grasping the situation of labor relations, workers' thoughts and aspirations has been strengthened; many recommendations related to wages, social insurance, working conditions, and shift meals have been promptly reflected to authorities and employers, contributing to limiting disputes, collective work stoppages, and maintaining stable production.

Activities to care for the material and spiritual lives of union members and workers continue to be a highlight. Major programs such as "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan An Dang", "Union Tet Market", "Union Bus", "Zero-dong Booth", "Union Shelter" ... were implemented synchronously, spreading widely, supporting tens of thousands of union members and workers in difficult circumstances and far from home.

In particular, the "Union Meal" program continues to be a bright spot with 508 grassroots unions coordinating with employers to organize, 253,000 union members and workers benefiting with a total budget of more than 15.3 billion VND.

At the conference, delegates discussed and analyzed difficulties and limitations in implementing tasks in 2025; shared experiences from practical grassroots activities. At the same time, he highly agreed on 8 key tasks in 2026.

In particular, focus on guiding and directing grassroots trade unions of enterprises to coordinate in organizing dialogues, negotiations, signing, and implementing collective labor agreements; continue to innovate propaganda work, raise awareness, knowledge, and skills for union officials, union members, and workers; launch emulation movements associated with improving labor productivity, promptly commend and spread typical examples in promoting initiatives and technical improvements.

In addition, proactively survey and grasp the situation of units and enterprises to effectively carry out the task of developing union members and establishing grassroots unions; strengthen women's work, promote gender equality; continue to pay attention to improving the quality of financial work, inspection and supervision of trade unions at all levels.

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Tran Huy Phuong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the outstanding results of provincial trade unions at all levels in 2025.

Regarding the key tasks in 2026, he emphasized that this is a year of special significance, taking place the National Congress of the Party and electing National Assembly deputies and People's Councils at all levels, requiring trade unions to continue to strongly innovate the content and methods of operation.

In particular, trade unions at all levels need to continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the Party's resolutions and directives, the State's policies and laws directly related to workers and trade union organizations.

Strictly implement the instructions of the Provincial Party Secretary, especially on strengthening the leadership of the Party Committee in developing trade union organizations and preparing to organize a Dialogue Conference between provincial leaders and workers and laborers.

At the same time, improve the quality and effectiveness of inspection and supervision work; proactively coordinate to promptly resolve conflicts arising in labor relations; care for, represent and protect the legitimate and legal rights of workers, ensuring that programs and activities are practical, targeted, have social depth and sustainability.

Along with that, continue to launch and effectively organize patriotic emulation movements among workers and laborers, associated with digital transformation, application of science and technology, improving skills, labor discipline and industrial style.

On this occasion, the Provincial Federation of Labor organized a posthumous award ceremony for the Third Class Labor Medal to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Viet - former Permanent Vice President of the Provincial Federation of Labor; awarded Certificates of Merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Bac Ninh Provincial Federation of Labor to collectives and individuals; and presented 50 gifts to workers in difficult circumstances.
