On the afternoon of April 22, in Hanoi, General Secretary To Lam, Secretary of the Central Military Commission, visited and worked with the Armored Corps Command.
Also attending the working session at the 201 tank Brigade were Politburo members: Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Phan Dinh Trac; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission Nguyen Duy Ngoc; General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense; General Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security; Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai.
At the meeting, Major General Do Dinh Thanh - Commander of the Armored Corps reported a general report on the traditional history and the results of performing tasks in the past.
Accordingly, in the history of the national liberation struggle as well as in the war to protect the Fatherland and perform international duties, the Armored Corps has always creatively applied the Party's military viewpoints and ideology, inheriting and promoting the tradition of fighting for the country of our nation.

In recent years, the Party Committees and commanders at all levels, officers and soldiers of the Armed Forces have been steadfastly grasped and seriously implemented the guidelines, policies and policies of the Party and State; united to overcome all difficulties, completed tasks well, and completed many tasks excellently.
Promoting the tradition of the Armored Corps, the 201 tank Brigade has regularly thoroughly grasped the task, officers and soldiers with strong political will, moral qualities and good working capacity; clean and strong party organizations, strong and comprehensive units "exemplary and typical".
In recent years, deeply aware of the central political tasks, the Party Committee and commanders of the 201 tank Brigade have focused on leading and directing the innovation of training content, programs, and methods, organizing the implementation and completing the political tasks excellently.
In particular, the Brigade completed well the rescue drills and training; excellently completed the sports festivals and competitions organized by the Army and the Ministry of National Defense.
According to the Ministry of National Defense's Information Portal, on October 5, 2019, the Ministry of National Defense issued a decision to establish the first tank regiment under the name of the 202 tank regiment under the General Command, with an initial number of 202 officers and soldiers, stationed in 3 combat tank battalions, one repair company, one engineering company, one guards company, one training company, one information company and advisory, political, logistics and technical agencies.
The birth of the 202nd tank Regiment is an event of historical significance, marking a new development step of our army in the process of building a revolutionary, disciplined and modern army. October 5, applied for the Armored Corps' traditional day in Vietnam.
