On the same day, General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife, along with the high-level Vietnamese delegation, laid flowers at the Monument to Unknown Soldiers by the Kremlin wall - one of the most sacred memorial works of Russia, commemorating the Red Army soldiers who sacrificed in the Great Patriotic War (1941 - 1945).
Vietnam and Russia have a traditional friendly relationship, which has been painstakingly nurtured by many generations of leaders and people of the two countries. The relationship between the two countries has high political trust, which has been tempered over time and historical changes.
