Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu offers flowers to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh in Singapore

Within the framework of the official visit to Singapore, on the afternoon of August 24, Politburo Member, Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu and the high-level delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam paid flower services to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh at the statue and stele commemorating President Ho Chi Minh in the Asian Civilization Museum (Singapore).

Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu and the high-level delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam respectfully offered flowers and observed a minute of silence to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh's great merits to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation; vowed to continue to strive, study and follow his thoughts, morality, and style; realize his aspirations, build Vietnam to become increasingly rich and beautiful, on par with the five continental powers.

Statues of President Ho Chi Minh and statues of many other Asian leaders and dignitaries are solemnly placed in the vast space of the Asian Civilization Museum, depicting the historical connection between Asian cultures and between Asia and the world.

In May 2008, to celebrate the 118th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth and the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Singapore, the Singapore National Heritage Committee inaugurated the memorial stele to President Ho Chi Minh in the museum premises. Following that, Vietnamese friends at the Singapore National Heritage Committee, the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore and the Ho Chi Minh Museum had the idea of placing the statue of President Ho Chi Minh next to the memorial stele. In September 2011, the statue of Uncle Ho was placed next to the memorial stele in the Asian Civilization Museum premises.
