Ho Chi Minh City residents monitor quality and report health check-ups through digital applications
From September 3rd to December 15th, 2026, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health will inspect 100% of establishments participating in the universal health check program, and at the same time open a channel for people to reflect and supervise.
People can self-check health records after 48 hours
Having just completed a free health check-up, Ms. Truong Thi Cam May (65 years old, Ho Chi Minh City) was informed that after 48 hours she could look up results on the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Citizen application. When checking, she was surprised because her records were fully updated with medical history, vaccination, examination results and diagnostic imaging.
“Previously, every time I went for examination, I had to carry many papers, sometimes lost them. Having a system to store information about examinations like this is very convenient,” Ms. Cam May shared.
Records at the examination point in Ba Ria ward, Ho Chi Minh City, with 15 neighborhoods and about 47,274 people of age participating in the program, show that the examination process is organized in a direction convenient for people.
Quick survey at the examination point, people said that all contents according to the notice were fully implemented and were explained by medical staff about the process and examination results. 100% of survey participants assessed service attitude at a satisfactory or very satisfactory level; most assessed facilities and sanitation at a good level and there was no "not good" assessment.
However, this is a quick survey with a small sample scale, carried out at one time, so it does not represent all people in the area.
Ho Chi Minh City is implementing 150 days of peak free health check-ups in a non-administrative direction. People have access to basic clinical examination services, screening for some non-communicable diseases at many locations, from hospitals to mobile examination points.
With the large scale of the program, the issue raised is not only how many people are examined but also the quality of each examination, the accuracy of the data and how people's health is monitored after the results are available.
People are allowed to participate in monitoring the quality of examinations

To increase objectivity, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health has developed a set of criteria for evaluating the quality of health check-ups and organized 100% inspections of establishments participating in the program. People are also allowed to participate in evaluating and reflecting on the examination process.
The set of criteria includes 8 groups with 48 criteria, a total of 100 points and 5 bonus points, including 24 core criteria and 8 compulsory criteria.
Accordingly, the assessment includes many contents from organizational conditions, examination procedures, recording results to consulting and guiding people when detecting abnormal health problems. Examination data must also be updated to serve the management of people's health later.
To make it convenient for people to reflect and contribute opinions, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health has implemented a Dashboard system to receive feedback related to health check-up programs.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tang Chi Thuong - Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said that the city's health sector is implementing a system to receive and process people's feedback in the health sector, with the participation of hospitals under ministries and sectors in the area.
According to the plan, people's feedback and the results of resolutions from hospitals and medical facilities will be periodically publicized weekly in the "People's Feedback" section on the electronic information portal of the Ho Chi Minh City health sector.
Through this system, feedback related to medical examination and treatment activities, medical service provision, administrative procedures and inadequacies arising in practice are received, classified and processed.
Notably, the reflections are digitized into management data, thereby helping the health sector identify arising problems and facilities that need to be rectified.
The Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health requested 100% of public and non-public hospitals and medical facilities in the area to seriously participate in the system. When receiving people's opinions, facilities must respond promptly, in the right focus and with the right authority.
