Lao Cai explores people's opinions on administrative reorganization and merger with Yen Bai province
Lao Cai - Since April 19, the whole province has begun to implement a plan to collect public opinions on 2 administrative unit arrangement projects.
In total, about 190,000 households and voters who are temporary residents will be consulted on the merger of Lao Cai and Yen Bai provinces and the arrangement and merger of commune-level administrative units in Lao Cai.
Previously, on April 12, the 11th Conference of the 13th Central Executive Committee approved Resolution No. 60, the policy of merging Lao Cai and Yen Bai provinces. The new province will be named Lao Cai, the political and administrative center will be located in Yen Bai.
On April 17, the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee passed Resolution No. 60 on the arrangement and merger, reducing from 151 communes and wards to 48 communes and wards.

At the meeting to deploy the plan to collect opinions on April 19, Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Lao Cai province requested members of the Steering Committee and sectors and localities to promote their responsibility and organize well. At the same time, before April 24, it is necessary to complete the collection of public opinions in time to organize a meeting of the People's Council from the commune to the provincial level, as a basis for submitting to the Prime Minister and the National Assembly.
The head of Lao Cai province also emphasized the role of local government committees, especially district and commune levels, in communicating the Party's policies to the grassroots and people, regularly grasping the contents at the grassroots level to strengthen propaganda work.
