Dien Bien agrees on the plan for 45 commune-level administrative units

On April 22, the People's Committee of Dien Bien province held an April meeting to give opinions on the Project on rearranging and reorganizing administrative units at the commune level (2nd time - after receiving opinions from the people).

Accordingly, the commune-level administrative unit plan after the arrangement was agreed to be 45 units (42 communes and 3 wards), a reduction of 84 units, equivalent to a reduction of 65.1%.

Previously, from April 18 to 22, districts, towns and cities organized to collect opinions from residents on the arrangement and reorganization of commune-level administrative units.

According to the Dien Bien Department of Home Affairs, the total number of voters participating in the consultation is 112,060/132,477 voters, reaching 84.59%; the number of voters agreeing with the arrangement plan is 110,131 voters, reaching 83.13%/total of voters.

At the meeting, Mr. Le Thanh Do - Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee - requested the Department of Home Affairs to urgently complete the plan and submit a plan to reorganize and reorganize the commune-level administrative units.

Request the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to do a good job of propaganda, mobilization and persuasion of people to agree with the arrangement plan, name and location of the headquarters of the new People's Committee of the commune after the arrangement according to the principle of ensuring the most favorable conditions for people and creating space for socio-economic development for the new administrative units.

Mr. Do also said that for the opinions of the people of some villages on local adjustment of administrative boundaries to suit living conditions and implementation of administrative procedures after the arrangement, the province will conduct a comprehensive review and organize implementation after completing the arrangement plan and reorganizing the commune-level administrative units.

During 3 days (23 - 25.4.), districts, towns and cities will organize People's Council meetings at all levels to approve and issue resolutions on the plan to reorganize administrative units at the commune level.
