Go ahead to pave the way, realize the aspiration to develop the country
For 96 years since the milestone of August 1, 1930, the Propaganda and Training sector and propaganda and training work have become an inseparable part, always deeply associated with the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.
Promoting the role of "going ahead, opening the way
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Duy Quat - former Standing Deputy Head of the Central Ideology and Culture Committee - said that throughout the revolutionary process, propaganda and education work has made a very important contribution to preparing a scientific and practical basis for forming a platform, guidelines, and policies, and at the same time disseminating education to cadres, party members and people to unite and highly agree with the Party's guidelines and policies, encouraging and motivating cadres, party members and people to be self-aware and actively creative in the revolutionary movement to successfully implement all political tasks in each period.
Under the leadership of the Party, propaganda and education work contributed to spreading Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh's ideology; propagating guidelines, policies, and laws; consolidating the great unity bloc and the people's belief.
After each task, each term, each revolutionary journey, the Party's propaganda and education work is deeply summarized, drawing out these valuable lessons of experience as scientific and practical bases to illuminate ideological activities in the new era.
During the period of struggle for national independence, revolutionary newspapers, leaflets, slogans, political training classes and propaganda cadres became sharp "weapons", contributing to popularizing the masses, gathering forces, creating strength to bring the August Revolution of 1945 to victory, and the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.
In the two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism, propaganda and education work continued to promote the role of ideological orientation, encouraging patriotism, determination to fight and win, and mobilizing the entire people and army to overcome all difficulties and hardships to win glorious victories and unify the country.
In the renovation period, the Propaganda and Training sector actively propagated socio-economic development policies, Party building, and political system building, contributing to creating unity within the Party and social consensus.
Entering the new era of the nation, propaganda and education work continues to raise new issues and new contexts to accompany the Party's revolutionary cause, worthy of the propaganda and education role of "going ahead - opening the way, going along - developing, going behind - summarizing".
Arousing the strong aspiration for national development and rise
According to Dr. Nguyen Viet Chuc - Deputy Chairman of the Advisory Council on Culture and Society (Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front), the 14th Party Congress has identified the vision and direction of national development in the new era with great goals. The national development orientation emphasizes innovating propaganda and mass mobilization work; strengthening the bond between the Party and the People, relying on the People to build the Party and the political system.
Dr. Nguyen Viet Chuc said that propaganda and education work continues to play the role of "going ahead, opening the way", doing well in orienting public opinion, arousing the spirit of self-reliance, self-strengthening, innovation and digital transformation; creating absolute consensus in society to drastically and effectively implement the major policies and decisions of the Party and State.
The entire sector strives to encourage the entire Party, army, and people to turn the pressures of the macroeconomic situation into a driving force for national unity, firmly consolidate the people's and businesses' belief in the Party's and State's management, contributing to bringing the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress quickly into practical life, strongly arousing the aspiration of the nation to develop and rise up; creating a solid premise to bring the country into a new era, successfully realizing the two strategic goals of 100 years of Party establishment and 100 years of national establishment.
The historical responsibility of ideological work, including propaganda work in the Party's leadership activities in the new development era, is to make an important contribution to successfully realizing the goal: Maintaining a peaceful and stable environment; rapid and sustainable development of the country and firmly protecting the Fatherland; improving and comprehensively enhancing people's lives; strategic autonomy, self-reliance, confidence, and strong progress in the new era of the nation; successfully implementing the goal of becoming a developing country with modern industry and high middle-income income by 2030; realizing the vision of becoming a developed and high-income country by 2045 for a peaceful, independent, democratic, rich, prosperous, civilized, and happy Vietnam, firmly moving towards socialism.
Creating positive value systems, protecting the right, fighting against the wrong
Dr. Nguyen Van Phuong (Army Officer School 2) believes that the outstanding contribution of propaganda work to the task of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against wrong and hostile views, first of all lies in the capacity to build, consolidate and lead the political belief of society. Protecting the ideological foundation is not only a reaction to distorted arguments, but more deeply, to make the Party's ideology correctly understood, convincing in practice and becoming a spiritual support in political life.
In the context of digital transformation and increasingly fierce information competition, wrong and hostile views often do not appear in the form of direct opposition, but are hidden in half-real and half-fake interpretations, cutting off phenomena from their nature, absolutizing, exaggerating limitations and shortcomings, denying achievements, spreading suspicion and reducing social trust. Here, propaganda work plays a particularly important role in early identification of ideological issues, correctly analyzing the political nature of information, promptly orienting public opinion and creating unity in awareness within the Party, and consensus among the People. The value of propaganda work is not only in the voice of refutation, but also in the ability to create positive value systems, making the right spread with basis, emotion and persuasiveness to society.
According to Dr. Nguyen Van Phuong, propaganda work in the coming time should continue to be implemented in a more proactive, modern and dialogue-oriented direction. It is necessary to closely combine the depth of theory with communication language suitable for each public group; between direct struggle and fostering trust with vivid evidence from the country's development practice; between the orienting role of propaganda agencies and the spread of the press, education, culture, grassroots cadres and digital platforms. When propaganda work plays a good leading, persuasive and connecting role, the task of protecting the Party's ideological foundation will have more depth, sustainability and broader social effectiveness.
