Da Nang adjusts the naming of new wards and communes by place name, removes Sequential Numbering

At the meeting on the morning of April 22, the Executive Committee of the Da Nang City Party Committee (term XXII) unanimously approved Resolution No. 26-NQ/TU on adjusting the name of the commune-level administrative unit formed after the arrangement in Resolution No. 25-NQ/TU, dated April 15-2025.

The City Party Committee assigned the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee to lead the City People's Committee Party Committee to direct the City People's Committee to organize the collection of People's opinions, ensuring to submit to the City People's Council on September 24.; complete the dossier to submit to the Government before May 1.

Relevant Party committees, agencies, localities and units, based on their assigned functions and tasks, urgently specify the implementation of the Resolution to ensure the quality and progress set out.

Accordingly, instead of the option of naming by taking the name of the district and adding the order, Da Nang will reclaim the names of land and villages with place names associated with cultural depth to arouse pride and create natural cohesion, arousing the development aspiration of the whole community. They are the names An Hai, Thac Gian, Hai Van, Son Tra.

The new naming of communes and wards in Da Nang is based on priority criteria: history, culture, economy, development space, security - defense. Most localities will retain the names of a typical unit if they stand out according to the criteria; only combine new names if the merged components have equivalent importance. Specifically:
