The whole country has consumed nearly 500 million liters of E10 gasoline since June 1
According to representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, people welcome E10 gasoline positively. For feedback related to the use of E10 gasoline, the Ministry takes a maximum of 3 days to respond.
The market welcomes positive developments
At the seminar "Converting E10 gasoline: Solutions for success" organized by Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Dao Duy Anh - Deputy Director of the Department of Innovation, Green Transformation and Industrial Promotion (Ministry of Industry and Trade) said that the policy of developing and using bio-gasoline in Vietnam has been implemented for many years, not a new issue raised recently.
According to Mr. Dao Duy Anh, this roadmap was established from Decision No. 53/2012/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister. Accordingly, from December 1, 2015, the whole country switched to using E5 bio-gasoline; from December 1, 2017, E10 gasoline continued to be deployed nationwide.
Mr. Dao Duy Anh said that switching to using biofuel first of all has environmental protection significance. Second, this helps reduce dependence on mineral gasoline. Third, this is an important solution for Vietnam to be self-sufficient in fuel sources produced from agricultural products such as corn, cassava, and sugarcane.
This is a sustainable fuel source because it can be regenerated and produced, unlike mineral fuel which is a finite fuel source, the more exploited it is, the more depleted it becomes. Especially, in the context that Vietnam is a country dependent on about 70% of imported mineral gasoline fuel, the transition to biofuel has a lot of meaning," Mr. Dao Duy Anh emphasized.

According to Mr. Dao Duy Anh, the Party and Government have shown great determination in greening the economy in general, including the use of biofuel.
From June 1 to now, the whole country has officially used E10 gasoline nationwide for half a month. After 15 days of implementation (as of June 15), the market has generally received very positive feedback. To date, the whole country has consumed approximately 540 million liters of gasoline, of which nearly 500 million liters are E10 gasoline and about nearly 40 million liters are E5 gasoline.
Recorded about 190 feedback and recommendations related to E10 gasoline
At the seminar, a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper asked: After half a month of implementation, what feedback and recommendations has the Ministry of Industry and Trade received from consumers? What are these opinions usually focused on?
Mr. Dao Duy Anh said that gasoline and oil businesses have not received official feedback. However, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has a Competition and Consumer Protection Committee, and also hotlines, fan pages and emails to receive information.

To date, all of the above-mentioned forms of reception recorded about 190 feedbacks sent to the Competition and Consumer Protection Committee.
Among 190 complaints, there were about 49 complaints about throttle failure and engine weakness, accounting for approximately 26%. There were 46 complaints about gasoline consumption, accounting for about 24%. There were 25 opinions reflecting that the car was stalling, accounting for about 13%. The content of difficult to start was 17 opinions, accounting for 8.9%.
There are 14 opinions concerned about whether using E10 gasoline causes rust or not, accounting for about 7.4%. There are 11 opinions reflecting that the car vibrates, accounting for nearly 6%. There are 10 opinions asking about whether using E10 gasoline, the car is warranted or not, accounting for about 5.3%. There are 18 opinions asking whether there is a shortage of E5, E10 gasoline or not, accounting for about 9.4%.
That is all the content we have received up to now. Depending on each feedback, we have a process to guide users to places where they can receive the most satisfactory answers," Mr. Dao Duy Anh said.
According to Mr. Dao Duy Anh, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has a process to receive information from consumers in general for all types of goods, as well as social issues. The Competition and Consumer Protection Committee performs the task of protecting consumers for many different types of goods, not just bio-gasoline.
Therefore, this agency has developed a process to receive and process all consumer information reflected to the Competition and Consumer Protection Committee.
When receiving information, there is a rapid and timely processing process step by step. Within a maximum of 3 days from the date of receiving consumer feedback, functional agencies will have an answer for consumers.
