Yen Bai and Lao Cai Secretaries survey a series of key projects before the merger
During the working trip on the afternoon of April 19 in Lao Cai, the Yen Bai Provincial Working Group visited and surveyed a number of key projects and works.
At the meeting, Yen Bai Provincial Party Secretary Tran Huy Tuan and Lao Cai Provincial Party Secretary Trinh Xuan Truong and leaders of the two provinces surveyed the social housing project in the residential area adjacent to the extended B6 road and the project on the left bank of the Red River (Lao Cai city).
The two projects are being accelerated, striving to enter phase 1 by the end of this year and early 2026, with a total of nearly 1,500 apartments.
Along with that, the working delegations of the two provinces surveyed Lao Cai Economic Zone, listened to the introduction of the overall, detailed planning and zoning plan at Kim Thanh International Road Border Gate No. II; introduced the project to build a smart border gate, a cross-border cooperation area...




The delegation then visited the Ban Vuoc (Vietnam) - Ba Sai (China) bridge project across the Red River. The project started at the end of March 2025 and is expected to be completed in June 2026.
When put into operation, the bridge will contribute to making Lao Cai develop worthy of being the "growth pole" of the Northern midlands, connecting Vietnam and ASEAN countries with the Southwest China region; promoting socio-economic development between Lao Cai and Yunnan provinces.
At the same time, within the framework of the visit, the delegation of Yen Bai province visited key projects in the fields of health and education of Lao Cai province that have been and are being invested in such as: Provincial General Hospital; Lao Cai International School; Lao Cai Specialized High School construction project.
On this occasion, the Standing Committees of Yen Bai and Lao Cai Provincial Party Committees will also conduct exchanges and evaluate the progress of the merger of the two provinces.
