Inspection and supervision contribute to improving the effectiveness of trade union activities
In the 2023-2025 period, inspection committees at all levels of the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union organized 2,262 inspections.
Currently, the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union (VTC) is managing 54 affiliated trade unions with more than 82,650 union members.
In the 2023-2025 period, inspection and supervision work will be implemented synchronously, ensuring compliance with the orientation of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and in accordance with the practical situation. The Inspection Committee (IC) of the Trade Union has issued many documents directing and guiding to improve the quality of inspection and supervision activities of trade unions at all levels.
In 2023, the Inspection Committee of the industry union organized 3 inspections and supervisions (1 co-level, 2 at the grassroots union); the trade union at the grassroots level organized 7/7 inspections at the same level; the grassroots trade union 23/23 inspections; the grassroots trade union inspection committee conducted 701 inspections of compliance with the charter and union finances. In 2024, the Inspection Committee will conduct a financial inspection in 2023 and conduct inspections at 2 trade unions at the grassroots level, 4 grassroots trade unions; the trade union at the grassroots level will conduct 6/6 peer inspections; the grassroots trade union will conduct 24/24 inspections; the entire system will conduct 1,171 inspections at affiliated grassroots trade unions. In 2025, joint-level inspections of financial implementation in 2024; corporation unions, general companies and grassroots unions organized 54/54 joint-level inspections 100%) and 390 charter and financial inspections at affiliated units.
The Vietnam Export Processing Trade Union has focused on inspecting spending regulations, asset management, revenue and expenditure decentralization, and the implementation of financial policies. The results show that trade unions at all levels strictly comply with regulations, while promptly overcoming shortcomings in revenue and expenditure and accounting books.
Supervision work has been enhanced with a total of 967 sessions, including 772 organizational supervisions and 195 union cadre supervisions. The main supervision content is on compliance with the charter, resolution, operating principles, handling petitions and performing assigned tasks. The monitoring results help promptly make recommendations and adjustments, contributing to improving the effectiveness of trade union activities.
