Establishment of the Phu Quoc Sun Group International Airport Branch Trade Union

On January 15, at Phu Quoc special zone, the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor (FFL) and the Phu Quoc Sun Group International Airport branch held a ceremony to announce the decision to establish a grassroots trade union and admit union members.

Accordingly, the ceremony announced the decision to establish the Phu Quoc Sun Group International Airport Branch Trade Union under the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor, admitted 614 union members, and assigned the Phu Quoc Special Zone Trade Union to monitor and manage. Mr. Nguyen Nhat Tien - Vice Chairman of the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor said: The establishment of the Phu Quoc Sun Group International Airport Branch Trade Union shows the concern of trade unions at all levels, the consensus of employers and especially the legitimate aspiration of the majority of workers in having a legal representative organization to protect their legitimate and legal rights and interests. This is also an important basis for building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations at the unit.

The Provincial Federation of Labor acknowledged and highly appreciated the coordination and facilitation of the unit's leaders in propagating and mobilizing workers to participate in the Trade Union organization, as well as the efforts and sense of responsibility of the union members in the recent past.

Mr. Tien also suggested that the Executive Committee of the Trade Union, specifically the Chairman of the Trade Union, will be the representative of the workers' union members, listen to the opinions of the union members, submit the wishes of the union members to the Board of Directors and have a number of other tasks.
