Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation admits 811 new union members in nearly 5 months of the year

Lao Cai - From the beginning of 2026 to now, the unit has newly established 19 grassroots trade unions with 811 new members.

In the afternoon of May 15, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Phan Van Anh visited and presented gifts to workers in Lao Cai province.

Attending the program were Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Nhiem - Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Chairwoman of the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation and a large number of union members and workers.

Workers' Month 2026 in Lao Cai province is vibrant with many practical activities towards grassroots levels, focusing on caring for the lives and protecting the legitimate rights of union members and workers.

Right from the end of April 2026, the Provincial Labor Federation coordinated with the Provincial Occupational Safety and Health Council and the Department of Home Affairs to organize the launching ceremony of Workers' Month and Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health with the participation of nearly 300 officials, union members, and workers.

One of the highlights is the "May Dialogue" program. The Provincial Labor Federation organized a direct dialogue with nearly 500 union members and workers; received and answered 44 opinions.

In addition, more than 250 grassroots trade unions coordinated to organize propaganda on labor laws, occupational safety and health at enterprises; strengthen measures to improve working conditions, fire prevention and fighting training, and prevent labor accidents and occupational diseases.

In the Workers' Month of 2026, the whole province newly established 13 grassroots trade unions, admitted 545 union members; accumulated from the beginning of the year, newly established 19 grassroots trade unions with 811 new union members.

Speaking at the conference, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Phan Van Anh acknowledged and highly appreciated the results achieved by trade union levels in Lao Cai province in Workers' Month 2026.

According to the leaders of the General Confederation, trade union levels have well promoted the role of representing, caring for, and protecting the rights of workers; allocated many resources to support workers in difficult circumstances, effectively organized cultural and sports activities, contributing to building harmonious and stable labor relations.

Leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor proposed that in the coming time, trade unions at all levels continue to innovate the content and methods of operation; proactively advise Party committees and authorities and coordinate with businesses to better care for the lives of union members and workers.
