Completing regulations on the organization and operation of grassroots trade unions in accordance with reality
Quang Ninh - In the afternoon of January 29, in Quang Ninh, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor organized a workshop to collect opinions to improve the Regulations on organization and operation of grassroots trade unions.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - attended and chaired the workshop.
The workshop was attended by 42 delegates, representatives of departments of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, standing committees of the Labor Federations of provinces and cities, and representatives of trade unions.
The Draft Regulation consists of 8 chapters, 24 articles, clearly showing the position of the trade union as the grassroots organization of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour for workers without labor relations (freelance workers and specialized occupations).

At the workshop, there were 25 speeches. The majority of delegates expressed their agreement and high consensus with the overall content of the draft; and at the same time said that this is an important document, which needs to be completed and promulgated soon so that grassroots trade unions can operate effectively and meet practical requirements.
In addition, some opinions suggested that the Drafting Committee continue to study, supplement, and clarify contents such as: conditions for joining trade unions; principles of organization and operation; conditions for establishing trade unions; authority to establish trade union groups. Many delegates also paid attention to the financial mechanism and funding sources to support the operation of grassroots trade unions.

Speaking at the conclusion of the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - acknowledged and thanked the enthusiastic and practical contributions from the delegates. Requesting the drafting committee to study and absorb appropriate opinions to continue to improve the regulations.
