Vinh Long Labor Union develops 20,000 union members in 2026

In 2026, the Provincial Trade Union will implement a working program with many specific targets, taking the development of union members as a continuous task. The entire system strives to admit an additional 20,000 union members, expanding the coverage of trade union organizations in enterprises and non-state sectors.

Along with developing the force, provincial-level trade unions chaired a social review and ten supervisions of draft laws and policies directly related to union members and workers, ensuring compliance with the spirit of Decision 217 of the Politburo.

The quality of grassroots trade union activities continues to be set with higher requirements. At least 80% of grassroots trade unions in the public service sector, 90% of state-owned enterprises, 70% of non-state enterprises complete their tasks well, of which 20% achieve excellent results.

Propaganda and education work is a comprehensive focus. Strive for 100% of union officials to study and grasp the resolutions of the Party, the Fatherland Front and the Trade Union; over 85% of union members and workers are disseminated related policies, laws and guidelines.

At the same time, the Trade Union participates in promoting at least 65% of workers in enterprises to study, improve their qualifications and professional skills, meet production and business requirements and adapt to technology transformation.

The work of building the Party among workers has received attention. Each grassroots union strives to introduce at least one outstanding union member for the Party to consider, train, and create a source for the development of new party members from the workers and labor movement.

Improving the capacity of the staff continues to be a key requirement. In 2026, 100% of newly elected grassroots union presidents will be trained and fostered in forms suitable to the practical conditions of each unit and locality.

The creative labor movement is promoted, striving to have at least 20 individuals awarded the Creative Labor Certificate and 200 initiatives recognized, contributing to improving productivity, efficiency, and improving working conditions for workers.

Regarding the implementation of grassroots democracy regulations, 100% of grassroots trade unions in the public service sector and at least 85% of non-state trade unions coordinate to promulgate and fully implement, ensuring the right to participate in management of workers.

In addition, the union strives for over 80% of union members and workers to participate in cultural and sports activities; 100% of unions are eligible to establish a Mass Women's Union; collect and inspect union finances to meet requirements and comply with regulations.
