Da Nang Trade Union will focus on establishing industry unions
After the merger, the Da Nang City Labor Federation was streamlined, operated effectively, focused resources on taking care of workers' rights, and promoted the role of grassroots trade unions.

Before implementing the merger, the Da Nang City Labor Federation has developed a Project on establishing commune and ward unions in Da Nang, a Project on implementing the arrangement and merger of the Quang Nam Provincial Labor Federation and the Da Nang City Labor Federation under the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City (new).
After the merger, the Da Nang City Labor Federation also established commune and ward unions in the area with 10 grassroots unions with 1,500 or more union members in 24 localities, including: Lien Chieu, Ngu Hanh Son, Son Tra, An Khe, Hai Chau, An Hai, Hoa Xuan, Thanh Khe, Cam Le, Hai Van, Hoa Cuong, Hoa Khanh, Ba Na, Nam Phuoc, Duy Xuyen, Huong Tra, Tam Ky, Ban Thach, Hoi An, Hoi An Tay, Dien Ban Dong, Dai Loc, Nui Thanh and Thang Binh; appointed Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Chairman of each unit.
Concentrating resources on taking care of workers
According to Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Linh - Member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Member of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, President of the Da Nang City Labor Federation, to meet new requirements, the Da Nang City Labor Federation will synchronously implement solutions and focuses. After putting the new Trade Union organization into operation, the Standing Committee of the City Labor Federation will develop working regulations for the Executive Committee, review and develop a key work program for the last 6 months of 2025, propose tasks and solutions to successfully implement the goals and targets assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Along with that, thoroughly grasp the role and tasks of commune and ward trade unions to promote their role in the locality, grasp the area and situation, and effectively perform the tasks of commune and ward trade unions.
The Standing Committee of the Da Nang City Labor Federation instructed union officials to be close to the grassroots and union members to grasp and support in a timely manner, handle the situation of worker security and issues arising at enterprises, prevent hot spots related to labor relations, resolve labor disputes, collective work stoppages, and illegal strikes. Grasp, propagate, promptly detect and prevent acts of taking advantage of the right to establish a trade union organization of employees at enterprises to sabotage the Party, State, regime, and trade union organization.
According to Ms. Linh, the work of developing union members and establishing grassroots unions will continue to be maintained and promoted. The Da Nang City Labor Federation will focus on establishing professional unions. In particular, the current top priority of the Da Nang City Labor Federation is to focus on reviewing contents related to negotiations, collective labor agreements, and dialogues at the workplace. These are contents practically related to the rights of workers, ensuring harmonious labor relations in enterprises as well as in the city.
"We will also focus all resources to carry out care and organization of activities at non-state units, to affirm the role and functions of the Trade Union organization as well as enhance the stature of the organization in the new situation" - Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Linh emphasized.
