Determined to bring the resolution of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor into life
On the morning of June 22, in Khanh Hoa, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor held a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. At the conference, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang - Member of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor gave a suggestive speech, raising a number of issues before the delegates discussed.
Many outstanding activities of the trade union organization
Regarding the Report on the results of trade union activities in the first 6 months of 2024, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang said that the report focused on assessing outstanding trade union activities in 11 major areas, outlining 7 shortcomings, limitations and 10 tasks and solutions in the coming time.
From the practical work of the workers, civil servants, laborers and trade union activities in each locality, sector and unit, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang suggested that the delegates discuss the results achieved, compare with the set targets and tasks, clarify the remaining and limitations, carefully analyze the causes, thereby proposing solutions to successfully implement the trade union work goals set in 2024, determined to soon put the resolution of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor into life.
Regarding the Resolution to promote the development of union members and the establishment of grassroots unions in non-state enterprises by 2028, with a vision to 2033, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang said that right after the 13th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Presidium directed the development of a resolution to soon issue it.
This is a thematic resolution to create a breakthrough in developing union members and establishing grassroots unions in non-state enterprises.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang suggested that the delegates give their opinions, especially on general goals, specific goals, especially solutions to create a breakthrough in gathering, attracting a large number of workers to trade unions, contributing to the successful implementation of the goals and targets set by the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

Regarding the Resolution of the Executive Committee of the General Confederation of Labor on "Focusing resources on caring for the welfare of union members and workers in the new situation", Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang assessed this as a thematic resolution, with the goal of building a policy system, focusing the resources of the Trade Union organization in a synchronous, stable, long-term, inclusive, sustainable direction and mobilizing social resources to contribute to improving the material and spiritual life, attracting workers to join the Vietnam Trade Union, building a strong and comprehensive Vietnam Trade Union.
Regarding the Program "Improving the effectiveness of dialogue and collective bargaining, period 2024 - 2028", this is one of a total of 26 programs and projects to implement the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
To build the Program, the General Confederation of Labor has established a Research Team, organized 5 conferences to complete, and organized the collection of opinions from 82 provincial and municipal Labor Federations, central and equivalent industry unions, and corporation-level unions under the General Confederation on the draft Program.
"I request the Executive Committee to continue discussing, especially on the goals, annual targets, targets until the end of the term, task groups, solutions and some contents with different opinions for the Executive Committee of the General Confederation to complete, promulgate and implement" - Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang emphasized.
Regarding the Program to build a team of grassroots union chairmen to meet the requirements of the task, especially the chairman of non-state-owned enterprise unions, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang assessed that this is an important content to concretize the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
The draft of the Program has consulted with union officials of the Provincial and Municipal Labor Federations, Central and equivalent industry unions, and Corporation unions under the General Confederation.
From practical experience in the industry, locality and working experience, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang suggested that the delegates discuss the goals, targets, tasks, and key solutions to build a team of union cadres with intelligence, courage, enthusiasm, responsibility, prestige, and good working methods in the spirit of the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
The 5th Conference of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor will seek opinions from members of the Executive Committee on personnel expected to elect additional Executive Committee of the 13th General Confederation of Labor, term 2023 - 2028; personnel planning work; Personnel relations work expected to elect additional Executive Committee of the 13th General Confederation of Labor, term 2023 - 2028.
