Lao Cai Trade Union prepares well for key tasks in 2026

In her opening speech, Chairwoman of Lao Cai Provincial Federation of Labor Nguyen Thi Bich Nhiem emphasized that the first quarter meeting is an opportunity for professional departments and trade union staff to look back on the implementation of tasks from the beginning of the year, promptly identify difficulties and obstacles, thereby proposing appropriate solutions to ensure the completion of work goals in 2026.

Currently, Lao Cai Provincial Federation of Labor has 2 professional departments, 11 commune and ward unions, managing 514 grassroots unions with more than 41,200 union members.

In the first quarter of 2026, trade unions at all levels in the province have closely followed the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, the direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and synchronously implemented many practical activities towards the grassroots. Propaganda and political and ideological education for union members and workers are focused on; emulation movements for production labor, productivity improvement and quality continue to be maintained and spread.

In particular, the work of caring for the material and spiritual lives of union members and workers has been implemented promptly. On the occasion of the Lunar New Year of At Ty, trade unions at all levels organized the "Tet Sum Vay" program, taking care of 82,823 union members, with a total budget of more than 64.5 billion VND.

The Provincial Federation of Labor donated 92 "Union Shelters", with a total cost of 4.05 billion VND from many socialized sources; supported 1,506 union members and workers affected by storm No. 10 (Bualoi) with an amount of over 1.5 billion VND, and shared and supported localities affected by storms.

The conference also spent time discussing the work of developing union members, establishing grassroots unions; the role of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers; grasping labor relations and resolving recommendations at the grassroots level. Many frank opinions have pointed out difficulties and proposed solutions to improve the effectiveness of trade union activities in the coming time.

Concluding the conference, the Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial Federation of Labor acknowledged and commended the sense of responsibility of the full-time union staff in the first quarter of 2026.

At the same time, he requested that specialized departments continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, proactiveness, creativity, focus on improving the quality of grassroots trade unions, promoting the development of union members, increasing care and protection of workers and preparing well for key tasks in 2026.
