Vietnamese workers have many advantages when working in Japan
That is the opinion of Ms. Yamada Rei - project coordinator/coordinator for developing partnerships with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) - about Vietnamese workers.
At the Workshop "Promoting human resources to work abroad under contracts" organized by the People's Committee of Dong Thap province in coordination with Lao Dong Newspaper (on August 9), the reporter had the opportunity to quickly discuss with Ms. Yamada Rei - project coordinator/partnership development officer of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
Ms. Yamada Rei said that she and her colleagues are implementing the Project to Support Employment Connection Information for Vietnamese workers working abroad under contracts. The project is implemented by the Department of Overseas Labor Management (DOLAB), the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam (MOLISA) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

"Our project is expected to be implemented within 5 years and is a technical assistance project. We hope to be able to provide a safe and secure working environment for Vietnamese workers abroad. Based on the knowledge and skills they have, they will return to develop the economy for Vietnam" - Ms. Yamada Rei said.
Accordingly, the project is built with 3 goals, including: building a new system to provide job information for Vietnamese workers; promoting the activities of dispatching agencies and dispatching companies; supporting Vietnamese workers after returning home from working abroad.
Through the process of interacting with Vietnamese workers, Ms. Yamada Rei acknowledged: "Vietnamese workers have many personalities and skills similar to Japanese people. For example, they always respect the elderly or work very hard, with the advantage of doing detailed and meticulous work. I think Vietnamese people have many advantages when working in Japan and thereby returning to their hometown to start a business, helping to improve their lives and their families".

According to statistics from the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, there are currently about 500,000 Vietnamese workers working in Japan under programs such as: Skills trainee; fixed-term workers; sending Vietnamese nursing and home appraisal candidates to Japan to work within the framework of the Vietnam - Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA); workers are technicians and interpreters.
Vietnam is also the leading country among 15 countries sending trainees and workers to Japan. Last year, it also reached a new milestone when the number of Vietnamese workers going to Japan to work was the highest ever, reaching 85,000 people.
