Border province gives Tet gifts to more than 42,000 people before the New Year

On January 21, according to information from the People's Committee of Lang Son province, the locality has completed the payment of Tet gifts to groups of subjects according to regulations under Resolution No. 418/NQ-CP dated December 28, 2025 of the Government on giving gifts to the Party and State on the occasion of welcoming the 14th National Congress of the Party and the Lunar New Year 2026.

Specifically, the whole province has given gifts to 42,279 cases, including people with revolutionary contributions, social protection beneficiaries, social pensioners and other vulnerable groups.

Of these, 1,684 people received money through their accounts to receive allowances and subsidies, while 40,595 people were paid in cash. The gift is 400,000 VND/person, the total implementation cost is more than 16.9 billion VND.

To implement the policy, the Provincial People's Committee directs the People's Committees of communes and wards to review, compile statistics, and approve the list of eligible subjects according to instructions; at the same time, organize information and propaganda so that people clearly understand the policy, ensure publicity and transparency.

During the implementation process, relevant agencies and local authorities coordinated with local police forces to organize gift giving at the right time, to the right subjects, in accordance with regulations, creating convenience for people, especially the elderly and those in difficult circumstances.

According to the assessment of the Provincial People's Committee, giving gifts not only has the meaning of material support but also shows the concern and care of the Party and State for disadvantaged groups, contributing to encouraging people to improve their lives, welcoming the Lunar New Year 2026 in a warm and affectionate atmosphere.
