The Vietnam Fisheries Humanitarian Fund Council calls for donations and support for seafood workers

The open letter signed by Mr. Nguyen Ha Xuyen - Chairman of the Vietnam Agricultural and Environment Trade Union, Chairman of the Fund Management Board stated: In the first days of November 2025, storm No. 13 along with the recent prolonged flood caused severe damage to aquaculture activities and livelihoods of coastal workers in the provinces of Gia Lai, Khanh Hoa, Dac Lak, Quang Ngai and Da Nang.

Hundreds of fishing boats and coastal motorboats were severely damaged, sunk or washed away; tens of thousands of aquaculture cages (ochach, pond, lobster...) in key farming areas such as Cu Mong Dam in Dak Lak, lobster farming areas in Khanh Hoa... were damaged, collapsed, or completely washed away by storms, heavy rain, strong winds, and high floods.

Many households have lost all their assets, seeds and products that are about to be harvested, and have lost their main source of livelihood. The estimated economic damage is up to thousands of billions of VND for the seafood industry alone, pushing thousands of fishermen and aquaculture farmers into extreme difficulties, who are in great need of support to rebuild their lives and production.

With the spirit of mutual love, the Vietnam Fisheries Humanitarian Fund Council urgently calls for the cooperation and material and spiritual support from organizations, businesses in the seafood industry, and philanthropists.

Every support, whether big or small, is an invaluable source of encouragement, demonstrating the spirit of "mutual love", social responsibility, helping seafood workers overcome challenges and soon stabilize their lives and contribute to building a sustainable and humane seafood industry.
