Workers injured in labor accidents visit and receive gifts on the occasion of Workers' Month 2026

On the morning of May 5, Mr. Tran Van Chinh - Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City, Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai - Chairwoman of the Can Tho City Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) and the working delegation visited and presented gifts to families of workers who suffered labor accidents in the area, on the occasion of Workers' Month 2026.

This is an activity to promptly encourage and share difficulties with workers who unfortunately encounter risks in the working process, thereby showing the concern of the Trade Union organization and units for union members and workers.

At the visit, the delegation visited Mr. Tran Van Chinh (born in 1976, Cai Rang ward, Can Tho city). Mr. Chinh said that 19 years ago he had an electric shock accident while working, leaving serious sequelae that have lasted until now. Currently, his health has declined, walking is difficult and he is almost unable to work.

Sharing with the delegation, Mr. Chinh expressed his appreciation for the concern of the City Labor Federation and mass organizations when they regularly visit and encourage. According to him, although the gifts are not large in material terms, they are a source of spiritual encouragement, helping him have more strength to overcome difficulties in life.

On the same day, the working delegation also visited Ms. Le Thi Thao (Hung Phu ward, Can Tho city). Ms. Thao suffered a workplace accident while working at a brick kiln, dragging her leg into the machine, leading to losing one leg and suffering about 75% injury. The accident happened more than 10 years ago, leaving many long-term effects on her health and daily life. Despite many difficulties, Ms. Thao still tried to adapt to life.

Every time the Labor Federation and units visit, encourage, and give gifts, I feel touched and warm-hearted. This concern helps me alleviate difficulties and have more spirit to continue to rise up in life," Ms. Thao said emotionally.

At the places visited, Mr. Tran Van Chinh - Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City cordially inquired about the health, circumstances and lives of workers' families who suffered labor accidents. He expressed deep sympathy for the difficulties and disadvantages that the brothers and sisters had to bear after the accident.

Mr. Tran Van Chinh wished that the families would continue to maintain an optimistic spirit, strive to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives. At the same time, he affirmed that levels, sectors and trade union organizations will continue to pay attention, accompany, and have more practical activities to support and encourage workers who unfortunately encounter risks in the working process.
