Gia Lai Trade Union performs well its function of representing and protecting the rights of employees

Affirming the role of caring and representing

After merging the old Binh Dinh and the old Gia Lai into the new Gia Lai province, the new Gia Lai Provincial Federation of Labor (GFF) has managed 90.729 workers, civil servants, and laborers (CNVCLD), a decrease of 82,183 compared to the beginning of the term, due to many administrative agencies and units stopping trade union activities...

In that context, Trade Unions at all levels continue to focus on performing the function of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of employees. In the 2023-2025 period, the Trade Union chaired 364 supervisions, participated in 567 supervisions, organized 246 social criticism sessions, focusing on wages, social insurance, labor contracts, and occupational safety and hygiene. In particular, the Trade Union has supported employees to reclaim their rights with an amount of more than 2.5 billion VND.

The work of caring for the lives continues to be maintained through activities such as the Lunar New Year, Workers' Month, union member welfare programs... with more than 449,809 employees supported, a total cost of 186 billion VND. Trade unions at all levels have built and repaired 142 "Union Shelters" and "Love House" with a budget of over 6 billion VND; mobilized to increase the value of shift meals to over 18,000 VND/meal at 245 enterprises.

Employees also actively participate in social activities such as voluntary blood donation, support for people affected by natural disasters and catastrophes, with a total budget of over 31.6 billion VND.

Mr. Doan Ngoc Duc - Vice Chairman of the Trade Union of An Khe Duong Factory - said that the Trade Union not only issued policies but also clearly demonstrated its role through specific daily activities. The Trade Union always accompanies and protects the rights of employees to work with peace of mind and promptly supports union members when they are in difficulty.

"For me, the Union is a common home, a reliable support for me to share difficulties in work and life," said Mr. Duc.

A solid support for workers

Mr. Ha Duy Trung - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial Federation of Labor - said that the bright spot in the past term was the role of the Trade Union organization in representing and protecting workers.

The provincial trade union has proactively participated in developing and supervising the implementation of policies related to workers; promptly reflecting recommendations and aspirations of employees through departments, councils, monitoring delegations and meetings with voters.

Social supervision and criticism activities are implemented in accordance with the focus according to Decisions No. 217 and 218 of the Politburo, contributing to detecting, correcting errors and protecting the legitimate rights of employees.

The implementation of democracy at the grassroots level has been maintained regularly, thereby receiving and promptly handling many recommendations from the grassroots level, limiting the emergence of disputes and strikes.

Legal consulting and legal support continue to promote the effectiveness of directly protecting workers' rights, especially cases related to wages, insurance and regimes and policies.

Mr. Ha Duy Trung affirmed that the Gia Lai Provincial Trade Union is confident that the Provincial Trade Union has been increasingly better performing its mission of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of employees, creating peace of mind in work, stabilizing union members' lives and contributing to building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations at the workplace in the spirit of Directive No. 37-CT/TW of the Secretariat.
