An Giang Trade Union mobilizes bridge construction in a series of military-civilian Tet activities
An Giang - The commencement of bridge construction is the result of the joint efforts and connection of the Trade Union with sponsors, showing the spirit of mutual affection and community.
On March 31, in the bustling atmosphere of military-civilian Tet activities celebrating Chol Chnam Thmay 2026, the An Giang Provincial Labor Federation coordinated with the People's Committee of Hon Dat commune and sponsoring units to organize the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Kenh 11 bridge, Hon Queo hamlet.
Attending and performing the groundbreaking ceremony were Mr. Do Tran Thinh - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial Labor Federation; Mr. Vuong Thanh Trieu - Deputy Head of the Political Department of the An Giang Provincial Military Command; along with leaders of Hon Dat commune, and a large number of people in the area.
The groundbreaking ceremony for Kenh 11 bridge is one of the typical projects in the series of activities for the 2026 Military-Civilian Tet in Hon Dat commune - a locality with a large Khmer population. Kenh 11 bridge was built and put into use many years ago, and has now seriously deteriorated, causing difficulties for travel, transportation of goods and affecting people's daily lives, especially during the rainy season. The investment in building a new bridge is an urgent need, receiving high consensus from the government and local people.
The total construction cost of the project is about 230 million VND, expected to be completed in 1.5 months. The funding is mobilized by the Provincial Labor Federation to support sponsors, and the locality contributes a part.

It is expected that after completion and commissioning, Kenh 11 bridge will create favorable conditions for travel and trade of goods, contributing to promoting socio-economic development, and gradually improving the lives of people in Hon Dat commune.
The project is also a vivid proof of the effectiveness of the Military-Civilian Tet program, contributing to spreading the spirit of "military with people, one will", joining hands to build an increasingly developed homeland, especially in remote areas and ethnic minority areas.
