An Giang Trade Union flexibly adapts to take care of union members and workers

On January 8, the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor held a conference of the Provincial Federation of Labor Executive Committee to expand and summarize the work of the Trade Union in 2025.

The conference reported on the activities of the Trade Union in 2025, the direction and tasks for 2026; draft key work program for 2026; full-term work program of the Provincial Federation of Labor Executive Committee, term I, 2025-2030; draft working regulations of the Inspection Committee for the term 2025-2030; delegates discussed issues.

According to the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor, 2025 is the year of implementing the arrangement of the apparatus of the political system and reorganizing administrative units at 2 levels, promptly perfecting the Trade Union organization, continuing to implement the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, term 2023-2028, bringing the Resolution of the Trade Union Congress into life.

The Trade Union strengthens its grasp of the thoughts, aspirations, and working life of union members and employees; mobilizes union members and employees to actively participate with all levels, sectors, agencies, units, and enterprises to effectively carry out political tasks and production and business.

Organize practical and widespread patriotic emulation movements to welcome Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party, promptly commend and reward collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in work, labor, production and building a strong Trade Union organization.

The work of caring for union members and employees has always been focused on with many practical programs such as "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Deng", "Tet Union Market". Social activities, welfare care, support for union members and workers, especially union members and workers in difficult circumstances in life, those who have suffered from work accidents, occupational diseases are maintained by the Trade Union at all levels...

Over 12,800 union members and employees have been visited and given gifts by the direct superior union at the grassroots level, with an amount of over 6.8 billion VND. Continue to mobilize union members to contribute to the "Union Society" fund. Supported, built and repaired 220 "Union Shelters" for union members with difficult housing circumstances, with a total amount of 26 billion 525 million VND. Contributing un interest-free revolving capital, signing bank loans, charity kitchen activities are of interest to the Party Committee, government, and Trade Union with more than 44,000 union members receiving loans and participating in interest-free revolving capital with an amount of over 20.6 billion VND...

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor Do Tran Thinh said that in the current context, the Trade Union organization has made efforts to adapt and operate better.

After the merger between An Giang and Kien Giang, the area will be larger, the union members will be larger, and the circumstances will be more diverse. In the coming time, the Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor suggested that all levels of the Trade Union increase grassroots visits, increase actions to understand, listen, reduce forms to increase efficiency.

"We are entering a new phase with a new space, but the core value of the Trade Union is the function of representing, caring for, protecting, and accompanying, which has not changed. In the new conditions, Trade Union officials need to have more innovative and flexible working methods. No matter how large the area is, each cadre must always maintain enthusiasm and strive for the good goals that bring to union members and employees," Mr. Thinh emphasized.
