An Giang identifies 3 breakthroughs in developing Trade Union activities

The An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor said that the 2025-2030 term takes place in the context of the country continuing to integrate deeply and transform strongly digitally.

When the key expressways are completed along with the formation of industrial zones and clusters with many different scales, it will be a premise to attract and improve the quality of human resources, create many new jobs for workers, create conditions for union members and workers to increase in quantity, diversify in structure according to industry and economic sectors, especially services and tourism. This is a favorable condition for the Trade Union to carry out activities to consolidate and build an increasingly strong organization.

Based on the orientation and direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Provincial Party Committee, and the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Trade Union activities in the province are expected to have clear changes, increasingly meeting the aspirations of union members and workers. Thereby contributing to enhancing the position and role of the Trade Union organization in protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of employees.

Chairman of the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor Do Tran Thinh said that in that context, to meet the requirements and tasks of the new term, it requires all levels of trade unions in the province to unite and continue to strongly innovate their thinking, awareness, content and methods of operation. Proactively grasp the situation, propose appropriate flexible solutions to successfully implement goals, targets and tasks.

The goal is to innovate content and creativity in methods of operation, enhance digital transformation, and create a breakthrough in Trade Union activities. Well perform the function of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and employees. Promote the development of union members, establish grassroots unions (CDCS), and build a strong union organization.

Improve the capacity and political courage of the Trade Union staff to meet the requirements in the new situation. Promote the role of a bridge between the Party, the government and workers and laborers; actively participate in building a modern and strong Party, government and working class. Strengthen propaganda and education, promote emulation movements for good labor and creative labor, contribute to ensuring jobs, increasing income, improving life and successfully implementing the socio-economic development goals of the province.

Some targets by the end of the term are: At least 90% of cases of union members and trade union organizations that need consultation and debate on legal and legitimate rights and interests will have union representatives participating or supported by the Trade Union.

Through emulation movements of the Trade Union organization, strive to have at least 20,000 initiatives of union members and employees applied in production, business and work activities; select and propose to award at least 100 Creative Labor Certificates.

Strive for at least 85% of units and enterprises with trade unions that are qualified to represent, negotiate, and sign collective labor agreements according to the provisions of law...

According to Chairman of the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor Do Tran Thinh, in this new term, the Trade Union has identified 3 breakthroughs. Focus on performing the task of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and employees, promoting dialogue, negotiation, and signing of collective labor agreements, focusing on wages, bonuses, working hours, rest hours, and occupational safety and hygiene. Innovating methods of propaganda, mobilization, and gathering union members, creating a breakthrough in developing union members, establishing grassroots unions in non-state enterprises and the informal labor sector; improving the quality of grassroots union staff to meet the requirements of the task. Innovating the methods of operation of Trade Unions at all levels in the province; strongly applying knowledge of science, technology, digital transformation associated with professional and technical activities in performing tasks and activities of Trade Unions.
