South African President begins State visit to Vietnam
The state visit of South African President Cyril Ramaphosa to Vietnam this time is an important milestone in the relationship between the two countries.
On the afternoon of October 23, President of the South African Republic Cyril Ramaphosa arrived in Hanoi, starting a state visit to Vietnam from October 23 to 24 at the invitation of Politburo member and President Luong Cuong.
This State visit to Vietnam by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa - after 9 years since his visit as Vice President - is the first visit by a South African Head of State in 18 years, since President Thabo Mbeki's visit in 2007.
This is an important milestone in the relationship between the two countries, following the historic phone call between General Secretary To Lam and President Cyril Ramaphosa on April 22, demonstrating special respect and common determination in elevating bilateral relations.
The visit not only strengthens traditional friendship but also opens up opportunities for leaders of the two countries to comprehensively assess cooperation, orient the promotion of economic, trade and investment cooperation, and at the same time exploit new potentials, towards a more comprehensive and deeper relationship in the future.
