Quang Hoa is the only commune in Dak Nong that is separate and not yet merged
Dak Nong - Quang Hoa commune, in Dak Glong district, is identified as the only commune subject to isolation due to its geographical location and socio-economic conditions.
On April 17, information from the Department of Home Affairs of Dak Nong province said that Quang Hoa commune is nearly 40km from adjacent communes in the province. This commune has isolated terrain and difficult transportation.
Currently, the entire Quang Hoa commune has about 95% of the people being Mong ethnic people. The review results of Dak Glong District People's Committee show that by the end of 2024, Quang Hoa commune still has 208 poor households, accounting for 13.01%.
Quang Hoa commune was established in 2007. The commune has a natural area of over 85,000km2; the current population is 8,446 people (including 1,527 households).
According to the draft project to reorganize administrative units at the provincial and commune levels in Dak Nong, communes that are exempt from the regulations such as areas with ethnic characteristics, religion, security - national defense, remote areas, isolation... can be considered for preservation to ensure stability, even if they do not meet the standards on area and population.
According to the policy of merging Dak Nong and Lam Dong provinces and Binh Thuan, Quang Hoa commune is proposed to remain the same and is expected to be merged with Da R'sal commune, Dam Rong district (Lam Dong province) after merging the provinces.
