Warning to provinces and cities with thunderstorms today, with heavy to very heavy rain in some places
The meteorological agency has issued thunderstorm warnings in the eastern provinces from Dak Lak to Lam Dong, the South and the Central Highlands.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, last night and this morning (June 2), in Lam Dong and the Southern region there were scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain. Rainfall calculated from 7 pm on June 1 to 8 am on June 2, some places over 50mm such as the following monitoring station: Lai Son (An Giang) 65mm, Thanh Duc (Tay Ninh) 59.8mm, ...
Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong and Southern regions during the day and night of June 2nd, it is forecast to have rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms with rainfall of 20 - 40mm, locally heavy to very heavy rain over 90mm.
Other areas in the Central Highlands in the day and night of June 2nd, it is forecast to have scattered showers and thunderstorms with rainfall of 10 - 30mm, locally heavy rain over 70mm. Rain concentrated in the afternoon and evening.
The meteorological agency warns that in thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind with disaster risk level being level 1.
Rainstorms accompanied by tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind can affect agricultural production, causing trees to fall, damage to houses, traffic works, and infrastructure. Localized heavy rains are also likely to cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on slopes, and flooding in low-lying areas.
