There is still a situation of unsafe labor at the Hue University Construction Project
HUE - Although Lao Dong Newspaper has reported many times, the uncertainty about labor safety at the Hue University Construction Project continues.
At the site of the Hue University Construction Project, dozens of workers worked at an altitude of tens of meters on the 5th and 6th floors without taking measures to ensure minimum safety.

Many people did not wear protective belts, no railings or nets around the edge of the floor. The wooden boards are temporarily erected as a means of transportation, conveying and shaking whenever people pass by.
Some workers still wear fabric hats, conical hats or keep their heads exposed during construction. Many people carry heavy, bulky materials on high floors without protection.

Previously, on October 7, Lao Dong Newspaper published an article "Workers risked their lives to work on the 6th floor of Hue University's construction without protection", reflecting on the above-mentioned unsafe situation.
The article also reflects iron welders squeezing people out of the floor edge to weld, not using gloves or safety ropes. In addition, construction materials are transported to higher ground by hand-carried tiles, which are completely unsafe according to regulations.

According to the National Technical Regulation on safety in construction, all work positions at a height of 2m or more must have a protective railing or sturdy anti-fall equipment, and workers must be fully equipped with hats, gloves, shoes and safety belts. However, at this project, many basic requirements are provided poorly and loosely.
Previously, Mr. Ngo Van Tuan - Deputy Head of the Department of Planning, Finance and Infrastructure of Hue University - said that after receiving feedback from Lao Dong Newspaper, the unit requested the construction contractor to overcome the situation of unsafe labor. However, actual records show that the construction is still taking place in dangerous conditions, and protection measures have not been fully implemented.

As a large-scale educational project, the Hue University Construction Project not only needs to ensure progress and quality, but also strictly comply with regulations on labor safety. Allowing workers to continue working in unsafe environments is a sign of lax management and supervision by the construction unit and the investor.
On October 14, Ms. Hoang Thi Nhu Thanh - Chairman of the People's Committee of An Cuu Ward (Hue City) - said that the projects being implemented in the ward are invested by Hue University. After receiving feedback, to ensure labor safety, the Ward People's Committee discussed and reminded Hue University to rectify this situation.
