Remote inspection, businesses pay over 3 billion VND in insurance debt
After remote inspection by Vietnam Social Security, 6 businesses have retroactively paid more than 3 billion VND of insurance debt. However, Lam Dong province still has more than 181.6 billion VND of late payments.
Vietnam Social Security (BHXH) has just remotely inspected 8 enterprises owing social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance in Lam Dong province with a total amount of more than 4.4 billion VND.
As a result, 6 businesses have fully recovered more than 3 billion VND of debt, including: Thanh Buoi - Da Lat Co., Ltd. Branch; Rang Dong Basic Construction Co., Ltd.; Thuong Chanh Port Co., Ltd.; Nghia Ha Construction Co., Ltd.; Manh Truong Thang Production - Trading - Service Co., Ltd. and Trung Phat Packaging Co., Ltd.
Two businesses still owing are Trinh Nhi Agricultural Products Investment and Production Joint Stock Company, which has only recovered 50 million VND out of a total of nearly 510 million VND; Phan Thiet Branch - Nova Hotels and Resort World Joint Stock Company still owes more than 930 million VND and has not yet remedied it. 3 businesses were administratively sanctioned for late payment of health insurance according to Decree No. 90/2026/ND-CP, with a total amount of 16 million VND.
According to Lam Dong Provincial Social Insurance, this result shows that the form of remote inspection has initially been effective in urging businesses to fulfill their obligations to pay social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance.
Although many businesses have overcome after inspection, the situation of late payment and evasion of insurance contributions in the area is still high.
According to Mr. Dang Hong Tuan - Director of Lam Dong Provincial Social Insurance, by the end of July 2026, the whole province had 3,036 units with late payment and evasion of social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance for 3 months or more, with a total amount of 181.62 billion VND, accounting for 1.65% of the amount to be collected in 2026. In which, the business sector owes more than 167 billion VND, accounting for nearly 92% of the total amount of late payment; debts lasting from 12 months or more, up to more than 133 billion VND.
Some businesses with large and prolonged debts include Thanh Nguyen Co., Ltd. owing nearly 9.91 billion VND in 87 months; Tan Ha Investment Co., Ltd. owing more than 9.37 billion VND in 37 months; Nam Nung One Member Co., Ltd. owing more than 8.23 billion VND in 96 months.
According to Lam Dong Provincial Social Insurance, late payment and evasion of insurance contributions directly affect the rights of workers when resolving social insurance, unemployment insurance, occupational accident insurance, occupational disease insurance and receiving one-time social insurance benefits. Workers moving places of work also face difficulties in confirming and adding up the time of social insurance participation because the old business still owes money.
From the beginning of 2026 to now, the Provincial Social Insurance has conducted specialized inspections of 62 units; sent 2,065 notices and work invitations to 1,230 units that are late in payment and transferred 19 dossiers to the Investigation Police Agency, including 8 dossiers of crime denunciation and 11 dossiers of prosecution proposals. However, so far, no cases have been criminally handled.
Leaders of Lam Dong Provincial Social Insurance assessed that, in addition to the reason why many businesses face financial difficulties, there is still a situation of deliberately delaying, avoiding work, not comparing the salary fund, and not signing commitments to pay debts. Meanwhile, many workers are still hesitant to reflect violations because they are worried about affecting their jobs.
Faced with the above situation, the Provincial Social Insurance has proposed to the Provincial People's Committee to establish a working group to inspect and urge the recovery of late payment and evasion of social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance. The Provincial People's Committee then assigned the Provincial Social Insurance to preside over and coordinate with the Police, Tax Department and relevant agencies to establish a working group to inspect, handle or propose handling of violating units according to regulations.
At the same time, the Provincial Police are assigned to coordinate in preparing dossiers and proposing prosecution for acts of evading insurance contributions; the Provincial People's Procuracy is requested to coordinate to improve the effectiveness of insurance policy implementation.
