Developing nearly 21,000 union members in the 2023 - 2025 period

Information from the Vietnam Rubber Trade Union on January 2 said that in the period of 2023 - 2025, the work of developing union members will always be focused on, focusing on mobilizing workers in units that are eligible to participate in trade union organizations.

In the period of 2023 - 2025, the entire Vietnam Rubber Trade Union system has admitted 20,991 union members (in 2023 there were 5,617 people; in 2024 there were 5,923 people; in 2025 there were 9,451 people).

However, due to labor fluctuations and labor shortages in some units and low recruitment numbers, recruiting new union members is difficult. Due to labor shift and the large number of workers reaching retirement age, the number of union members tends to decrease compared to the beginning of the term.

In addition, implementing the policy of streamlining the organizational apparatus according to Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW of the Central Executive Committee on "Building a streamlined, effective and efficient apparatus" and the Resolution of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Rubber Industry Group, the organizational system of the Vietnam Rubber Trade Union is reviewed and rearranged in the direction of streamlining, efficiency, in accordance with the organizational and management model of the group.

Accordingly, at the beginning of the term, there were 10 trade unions at the grassroots level, 196 grassroots trade unions; after the arrangement, there was 1 trade union at the grassroots level, 78 grassroots trade unions; the number of full-time trade union officials from 82 people at the beginning of the term decreased to 52 people by the end of 2025.
