Effectively perform the function of representing and protecting union members and workers
The report at the Congress said that in the period of 2023 - 2025, the Vietnam Rubber Trade Union at all levels has proactively coordinated with the professional sector to effectively perform the function of representing, protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers and participated in developing and supervising the implementation of regimes and policies directly related to workers.
During this time, the work of negotiating, signing and implementing collective labor agreements continues to receive attention, with many contents that are more beneficial to employees than those prescribed by law.
Periodic and ad hoc dialogue activities at the workplace are maintained, democratic regulations at the grassroots level are seriously implemented; many recommendations and proposals from union members and employees are received and resolved promptly, contributing to removing arising difficulties, building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in enterprises.
Vietnam Rubber Trade Union at all levels has organized Tet care for workers with a total budget of more than 21.4 billion VND; visited, presented gifts, supported union members and workers in difficult circumstances, serious illnesses, work accidents, natural disasters... with a total amount of 11.03 billion VND.
Rubber Trade Unions at all levels have supported the construction and repair of 283 houses from the "Union Shelter" Fund with a total cost of nearly 14.2 billion VND; implemented the "Union Meal" program with a total amount of more than 3.6 billion VND; implemented cultural institutions and "Union Light" with a total cost of nearly 1.2 billion VND...
Focus on issues of wages, social security, and labor safety
Speaking at the Congress, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Thai Thu Xuong suggested that the Vietnam Rubber Trade Union continue to focus on performing well its role of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers, focusing on issues of wages, social security, labor safety and health care; Strengthening coordination in implementing grassroots democracy regulations; promoting inspection and supervision of the implementation of policies and laws on labor, trade unions and insurance regimes; Proactively participating in promptly resolving issues arising right from the grassroots, developing caring activities in a practical and effective manner.
At the same time, organize patriotic emulation movements among union members and workers well with appropriate content and methods for each type of grassroots and profession, the most important of which are the emulation movements "good workers, creative workers", "green, clean, beautiful, ensuring occupational safety and hygiene", "good at public work, good at housework". Focus on building advanced models, promoting initiatives, technical improvements, and emulation works; promote the discovery, selection, honor, and replication of advanced models, especially direct production workers.
The Congress also elected the Executive Committee and the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Rubber Trade Union for the 2025 - 2030 term. Accordingly, Ms. Huynh Thi Cam Hong was elected as President of the Vietnam Rubber Trade Union for the 2025 - 2030 term.
The Congress also set annual targets such as: Striving to recruit 500 or more new union members each year; 100% of newly recruited, qualified, propagandized and mobilized to participate in trade union organizations; On average, each grassroots union recommends at least 1 outstanding union member for the Party to consider and train for recruitment; 100% of grassroots unions participate with employers in promulgating and implementing grassroots democracy regulations; participate in supervising the implementation of policies and regimes for employees.
Every year, over 80% of grassroots trade unions sign and implement union member welfare programs with clear and practical incentives; Continue to coordinate with enterprises to increase employee income, striving to achieve an average annual income of over 10 million VND/person/month; Each year, at least 50 initiatives and technical improvements are recognized and effectively applied...
