Trade unions contribute to building Quang Ngai into a regional growth zone

On the morning of December 29, the Provincial Federation of Labor held the 1st Quang Ngai Provincial Trade Union Congress for the 2025 - 2030 term.

Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Huynh Thanh Xuan - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor emphasized that the first Quang Ngai Provincial Trade Union Congress, term 2025 - 2030, is a very special term of the Congress after adjusting the administrative boundaries to merge the two provinces of Quang Ngai and Kon Tum.

This is an important political event, marking the development of the workers' movement and trade union activities in the province in the new period.

In the past term, although the implementation time was shortened and the objective conditions were still many difficulties, under the direct and comprehensive leadership of the Provincial Party Committee; the coordination and facilitation of the government, departments, branches, sectors, and organizations; the efforts, solidarity, and creativity of the team of union officials, union members, and workers, the activities of the Quang Ngai province's trade unions have achieved many remarkable results.

The team of workers, civil servants and laborers in Quang Ngai province has been gradually improved in quality and diversified in the structure of their profession; have a strong political will, solidarity, dynamism and creativity in work, labor and production.

Trade unions at all levels in the province have constantly innovated the content and methods of operation to suit reality, meet the requirements of tasks and achieve many important results. Notable are the models of caring for union members and workers that continue to develop, bearing the strong mark of the Trade Union organization, such as "Tet Sum Vay", "Worker's Month"...

The first Quang Ngai Provincial Trade Union Congress, term 2025 - 2030, has the task of concretizing the Resolution of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Congress into the activities of Trade Unions at all levels, associated with the goal of building a modern and strong workforce, accompanying the socio-economic development of the locality and the country, adapting to the new situation.

Mr. Huynh Thanh Xuan suggested that the Trade Unions at all levels in the province need to focus on performing well the function of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers.

In particular, promoting welfare activities for union members to proactively participate, negotiate, sign and supervise the implementation of collective labor agreements, focusing on wages, bonuses, working hours, rest, working conditions, working environment, occupational safety and hygiene, etc.

Continue to innovate content and methods and improve the quality of activities of trade unions at all levels in a flexible and modern manner, including promoting grassroots activities, direct and close to the grassroots, enhancing propaganda, mobilization, attracting workers to join the Trade Union, creating a breakthrough in developing union members in non-state enterprises.

Mr. Huynh Thanh Xuan believes that with the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, the close coordination of authorities at all levels, the consensus and companionship of businesses and people of all ethnic groups, along with solidarity, the Quang Ngai Provincial Trade Union will firmly enter the new term with new spirit, new confidence and new victories, contributing to building Quang Ngai province into a fairly developed province, becoming an important growth pole in the Central - Central Highlands region in the coming years.
