Meeting of the Appraisal Council for "Scientists of Farmers" in 2026
The 7th Appraisal Council of the "Scientists of Farmers" program in 2026 has just met to appraise individuals nominated for honor.
Ms. Bui Thi Thom - Vice Chairwoman of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, Chairwoman of the Appraisal Council of the "Scientists of Farmers" Honor Program chaired the meeting; members of the Representative Council of the Central Vietnam Farmers' Union, the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, and the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations.
According to Ms. Bui Thi Thom, the 2026 "Scientists of Farmers" honoring ceremony is expected to be held in conjunction with the award ceremony of the Farmer Technical Innovation Contest on October 2. The "Scientists of Farmers" honoring program not only encourages, motivates, honors, and expresses gratitude to scientists and intellectuals with scientific research works, farmers with creative inventions and technical solutions, actively transferred to farmers, widely applied by farmers and bringing high efficiency; but also creates a emulation movement among cadres and farmer members.
Reporting at the meeting, the Organizing Committee of the 2026 "Scientists of Farmers" Honoring Program said that it had received a total of 43 dossiers from 25 provinces, cities and central agencies.
Ms. Bui Thi Thom requested the members of the Appraisal Council to study the nomination dossiers of candidates carefully, impartially, objectively and closely follow the regulations and rules of the program to have a decision on individuals selected for the 7th "Scientists of Farmers" honor, 2026.
After a serious and objective discussion process, the Appraisal Council unanimously approved 100% of 42/43 dossiers that are eligible to honor Farmers' Scientists in 2026 according to the set criteria.
