Exciting contest of good propagandists of female workers in Hai Phong

Implementing the Decision of Hai Phong City People's Committee on approving the project "Reproductive health and sexual health support for female workers living far from home in Hai Phong" funded by the United Nations Foundation (UNF), on the morning of May 10, the summary program and excellent propagandists contest with the theme "Your health - Our happiness" took place.

The contest was organized by the Hai Phong Center for Community Health Care Support and HIV/AIDS Prevention (HHCSC) in coordination with the Women's Union of Thien Huong and Hoa Binh wards with the participation of 100 female workers from other provinces.

Through the Golden Bell Ringing, situation handling and talent competitions, female workers have "harvested" enough basic skills in caring for themselves and their families. They went from passive to proactive, confidently sharing and protecting legitimate rights. Forming a community of female workers from other provinces who are united, understanding and loving.

The contest conveys knowledge of reproductive health and sexual health vividly through skits, arts and poetry composed by female workers themselves. Forming a core propaganda team from a group of female workers from other provinces, confidently sharing knowledge in the community and in businesses.

The contest also creates a useful playground, connecting female workers and promoting the support of trade unions, businesses, and local authorities... This is also a valuable "spiritual medicine", helping female workers firmly grasp knowledge, improve skills and become more attached to businesses.

Ms. Pham Thi Hue - Project Manager, Head of Communications Department of HHCSC Center - said that through strengthening capacity and access to reproductive health and sexual health care services, the project is implemented to improve the quality of life for female workers living far from home in Hai Phong.

The project not only stops at raising awareness but also creates proactiveness in health care and regular practice of safe contraception measures, preventing sexually transmitted diseases (STIs).

Accessing and directly improving the capacity of 1,900 female workers from other provinces along with timely cancer screening campaigns has partly helped remove "double barriers" in psychology and finance. This is an important support to help female workers protect themselves and improve their quality of life.
