Khanh Hoa establishes new grassroots trade union, admits 129 union members
Khanh Hoa has just developed a grassroots trade union at a bird's nest processing enterprise with 129 workers joining the Vietnam Trade Union organization.
On May 9, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation and DT Group jointly organized a conference to announce the decision to establish a grassroots Trade Union (CĐCS) at DT Food Joint Stock Company and admitted 129 trade union members.
As a member unit of DT Group, DT Food Joint Stock Company ((located in Bac Nha Trang ward, Khanh Hoa province) specializes in producing refined/plucked bird's nest products, pre-cooked bird's nest, bird's nest jelly... with nearly 150 employees.
After a period of mobilization, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation issued a decision to establish a grassroots trade union and admitted 129 new workers to the Trade Union organization. At the same time, it appointed the Executive Committee of the grassroots trade union consisting of 5 members and the Inspection Committee consisting of 3 members.
At the conference, representatives of the Provincial Labor Federation awarded decisions to admit union members, recognize the grassroots trade union of DT Food Joint Stock Company and launched the Executive Committee and Provisional Inspection Committee.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Bui Dang Thanh - Vice Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation emphasized that immediately after its establishment, the Executive Committee of the grassroots trade union soon developed an operating program, promoting the role of representing, caring for and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers.
At the same time, coordinate with businesses to build a united, stable and sustainable working environment.
According to Mr. Thanh, the trade union organization is not only a place to gather workers but also a bridge between businesses and workers through dialogue, recommendations, launching labor production emulation movements, technical improvements, and improving work efficiency.
Each worker when being a trade union member must comply with and implement in accordance with the charter, resolutions of the Trade Union as well as labor law.
Representing the enterprise, Mr. Nguyen Quang Duy - General Director of DT Group said that the establishment of the grassroots trade union of DT Food Joint Stock Company is the task and also the responsibility of the enterprise in caring for the lives of workers.
In addition to trade union activities, businesses also implement many reward and support programs for long-term employees.
The establishment of more grassroots trade unions at enterprises contributes to affirming the commitment to sustainable development with the worker as the greatest asset and guiding principle for development goals.
