Realizing the dream of housing for workers and people
On Workers' Month 2026, Ms. Nguyen Thi Duyen - a worker of Viet Nhat Plastic Production Co., Ltd. - had the joy of settling down in the Trade Union Shelter handed over by the Hanoi City Labor Federation. Ms. Nguyen Thi Duyen is in particularly difficult circumstances. Grasping the circumstances of union members, the Trade Union of Viet Nhat Plastic Production Co., Ltd. proactively proposed to the upper-level Trade Union to support funding for building a Trade Union Shelter for Ms. Duyen's family. On that basis, the Hanoi City Labor Federation decided to support 50 million VND to help her build a new house.
From the support of the City Labor Federation and the help of family, relatives, companies and savings after many years of labor, at the end of February 2026, Ms. Duyen's family began construction of a house in a small hamlet in Phu Tuc village, Phuong Duc commune, Hanoi.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Duyen is one of thousands of union members and workers facing housing difficulties who are supported by the Trade Union to build and repair Trade Union Shelter houses, adding motivation to rise up.
In 2025, the Trade Union supported the construction and repair of more than 1,500 Trade Union Shelters, with a total budget of more than 82 billion VND.
Accompanying and caring for the people
Implementing the role of the Trade Union organization and the role of one of the pillars members of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Trade Union always accompanies the Fatherland Front in caring for people's lives, caring for and supporting workers, especially poor workers in difficult circumstances, who have labor accidents, occupational diseases... contributing to consolidating and affirming the people's trust, including workers, in the Party, State, Fatherland Front and Trade Union.
Trade union levels regularly organize and mobilize union members and workers to actively contribute to support the "For the Poor" Fund and social security programs launched by the Fatherland Front. The Tet Sum vay, Trade Union Home programs have become a unique beauty, helping thousands of workers and laborers overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.
Faced with the impact of natural disasters and storms in the Northern and Central provinces in the last months of 2025, trade union levels have mobilized union members and workers nationwide to donate through the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
In which, the Golden Heart Charity Fund mobilized and promptly supported more than 2.58 billion VND (including goods), and presented more than 1,000 gifts to support people and union members and workers affected by storms and floods in Khanh Hoa, Gia Lai, Lam Dong, Quang Ngai, Dak Lak, Hue City provinces...
The Vietnamese working class currently has about 17.5 million workers in the industrial - construction sector and 21.2 million workers in the service sector, accounting for about 39% of the population, 73.6% of the social labor force. This is the leading force in the cause of industrialization, modernization, green transformation and digital transformation.
