Building a strong Thuan An Commune Trade Union, accompanying workers

Attending and directing the Congress were Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy - Vice President of the Hanoi City Labor Federation, commune leaders and 89 official delegates representing 1,576 union members of 43 grassroots unions in Thuan An and Bat Trang communes.

In her opening speech, Ms. Dinh Thi Lien - Chairwoman of Thuan An Commune Trade Union said that the 1st Thuan An Commune Trade Union Congress is an important political event, marking a new development step of the Trade Union organization after the arrangement of administrative units according to the 2-level local government model. The Congress is tasked with summarizing the situation of workers, civil servants, and laborers in the area, evaluating the results of Trade Union activities in the past time, and setting out directions, goals, and tasks for the 2025-2030 term.

Established on September 18, 2025, Thuan An Commune Trade Union directly manages 43 grassroots trade unions with 1,576 union members. Immediately after its launch, the Trade Union organization quickly stabilized the apparatus, proactively advised the Party Committee and the Fatherland Front of the commune to effectively implement the contents of Trade Union activities and the movement of workers and civil servants, contributing to the successful implementation of the task of local socio-economic development.

Based on the forecast of the situation and requirements in the new period, the Congress determined the general goal for the 2025-2030 term as: Innovation of content and methods of Trade Union activities; good performance of the function of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers; building a strong Thuan An Commune Trade Union, a reliable support for workers.

The Congress proposed 3 breakthroughs, 8 targets and 6 main groups of tasks and solutions, notably striving for 85% of enterprises and units in the area with trade unions to sign collective labor agreements; 100% of union members in difficult circumstances are cared for and protected when requested; each year has at least one outstanding project or work; 100% of grassroots trade union officials are trained and fostered...

Speaking at the Congress, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy - Vice President of the Hanoi City Labor Federation acknowledged and praised the proactive and creative spirit of the Thuan An Commune Labor Union, although newly established, quickly stabilized its organization, carefully and seriously prepared for the Congress, demonstrating the bravery and leadership capacity of the grassroots union staff.

The Vice President of the Hanoi City Labor Federation emphasized that in the coming term, the Commune Labor Union needs to strongly innovate the content and methods of operation, in line with local characteristics and the new organizational model; focus on performing well the function of representing, caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers.

The Congress announced the Decision to appoint the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Inspection Committee and positions of Trade Union officials of Thuan An Commune for the 2025-2030 term. Accordingly, Ms. Dinh Thi Lien was appointed to hold the position of Chairman of the Commune Trade Union. The Congress also appointed 2 official delegates to attend the 18th Hanoi City Trade Union Congress, term 2025 - 2030.
