Ho Chi Minh City - Vietnam National Textile and Garment Union launches Workers' Month and Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health in 2026.

The Vietnam Textile and Garment Industry Trade Union launched Workers' Month and Action Month on occupational safety and health in 2026 on the morning of April 21. Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Thai Thu Xuong attended and spoke at the launching ceremony.

Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tam - Chairwoman of the Vietnam Textile and Garment Industry Trade Union - said that the 2026 Workers' Month of the industry is launched with the spirit of "innovation, creativity, improving labor productivity, professional skills", aiming to build a team of textile and garment workers with high skills, industrial style, and flexible adaptation to market and technology changes.

Along with that, this is also the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health with a focus on "innovating management and improving the effectiveness of Occupational Safety and Health work in the digital age", in order to promote the role of each individual and organization in building a safe working environment.

Speaking at the ceremony, Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Thai Thu Xuong requested union members, workers and trade union organizations in each agency, unit, and enterprise of the entire textile and garment industry to promote intelligence, initiative, creativity, and labor production emulation, linking the emulation movement "Good Labor - Creative Labor" with digital transformation, application of science and technology, and improvement of production processes to improve labor productivity, quality and competitiveness of enterprises.

Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Thai Thu Xuong requested trade union levels throughout the Vietnam Textile and Garment industry to continue to effectively implement Workers' Month activities with the theme "Vietnamese workers innovate and improve labor productivity", focusing on grassroots activities and taking union members and workers as the center, strengthening care for life, protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers.

At the same time, promote dialogue and collective negotiation, improve the quality of lunch meals, improve working conditions, and organize well the "May Dialogue" program and forum to contribute opinions on building the Vietnam Trade Union in the new era. Coordinate with employers to organize programs to thank workers, organize activities to care for the material and spiritual life of union members and workers; organize "Trade Union Meals", negotiate with employers to improve the quality of lunch meals, and organize visits and gifts to victims of work accidents and occupational diseases.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union honored and rewarded 16 typical core workers with many achievements in production and business activities.

At the same time, awarded support to build 4 trade union facilities for units in the industry worth about 300 million VND, a "Trade Union Shelter" worth 50 million VND and 60 gifts worth 1.3 million VND/gift for workers in difficult circumstances.
