Lao Dong Newspaper receives Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor

On this occasion, Lao Dong Newspaper and the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education organized the signing of a Coordination Program with the presence of Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Doan - former member of the Party Central Committee, former Vice President, Chairman of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education.

Also attending were Mr. Vu Anh Duc - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the General Confederation; Mr. Le Manh Hung - Vice Chairman cum General Secretary of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education and officials of the 2 agencies.

Speaking at the program to celebrate the 101st anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2026) and the signing ceremony of the Cooperation Program between Lao Dong Newspaper and the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education in the period 2026 - 2031, on June 19, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - sent congratulations to the collective of officials, reporters, editors, and employees of Lao Dong Newspaper.

The Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor said that the leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor were very pleased to attend the signing ceremony of the Cooperation Program between Lao Dong Newspaper and the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education.

According to Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, this is a very meaningful activity to better care for the children of workers in general, children of trade union members in particular, as well as members of the education promotion association nationwide, especially in accessing educational services in a fair manner in the spirit of Resolution No. 71.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan expressed his wish that Lao Dong Newspaper would continue to promote its identity and core values of humanity, responsibility, and honesty; have more meaningful activities in the coming time, especially successfully implementing the cooperation program with the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education.

The Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor also highly appreciated the results that Lao Dong Newspaper has achieved in the past time, and emphasized that in the context of the press in general facing many difficulties, Lao Dong Newspaper continues to promote the role of a leading press agency with a long tradition in the Vietnamese press system.

Not only maintaining the journalistic identity, Lao Dong Newspaper also has many contents and articles that vividly, objectively, truthfully, and promptly reflect the fields of economic, political, social, defense, and security life of the country as well as the activities of the Vietnam Trade Union organization.

The newspaper continues to be an important bridge to perform the task of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers. Besides political tasks, the economic and journalistic activities of Lao Dong Newspaper are also continuing to be maintained and developed on a wider and more effective scale.

In particular, the digital transformation process of Lao Dong Newspaper has achieved many positive results with new products and effective new ways of doing things.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan recalled the guiding spirit of General Secretary and President To Lam that if digital transformation is not comprehensively implemented and journalism thinking is not innovated, Vietnamese revolutionary journalism will easily lag behind, fail to maintain its revolutionary orientation and fail to fulfill its mission well.

The Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor assessed: The Editorial Board of Lao Dong Newspaper has prepared for the digital transformation process early and persistently implemented it throughout the past time, thereby serving readers better and performing the assigned political tasks more effectively.

From the achieved results, the Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor sent his thanks to the Editorial Board and all officials, reporters, and editors of Lao Dong Newspaper for always accompanying the departments and units of the General Confederation during the recent peak working periods. He especially acknowledged the contribution of Lao Dong Newspaper in propagating the Workers' Month, Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health, as well as the process of preparing and successfully organizing the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress.

Expressing confidence in the development of the newspaper in the coming time, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan wished Lao Dong Newspaper to continue to maintain its development orientation, promote core values, maintain its prestige, affirm its vitality and position in the revolutionary press of Vietnam; continue to be an important mouthpiece, an extended arm of the Vietnam Trade Union organization.

The Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor believes that Lao Dong Newspaper will continue to effectively implement the assigned tasks in the spirit of the 14th Party Congress Resolution, the 11th Vietnam Fatherland Front Congress Resolution and the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress Resolution.

Speaking at the Program, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hien - Editor-in-Chief of Lao Dong Newspaper - especially thanked the encouragement, direction and expectations that the leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the leaders of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education have given to Lao Dong Newspaper.

The reminders and encouragements of the comrades are a great source of motivation for the collective of officials, reporters, and editors of Lao Dong Newspaper to continue to strive and strive to complete the assigned tasks even better" - Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hien said.

On this occasion, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - awarded a Certificate of Merit to Lao Dong Newspaper for its outstanding achievements in the emulation movements of the Emulation Block in 2025.
