Strengthening the implementation of occupational safety and health in the rainy and storm season
The Vietnam Fisheries Trade Union has just issued an Official Dispatch requesting to strengthen the implementation of labor safety and hygiene and ensure safety for fishing vessels.
Mr. Do Tien Dung - Chairman of the Vietnam Fisheries Trade Union said that in the face of the complicated developments of the weather and the rainy and storm season in 2026, the Fisheries Trade Union issued an official letter requesting the Executive Committees of grassroots Fisheries Trade Unions nationwide to pay attention to and strengthen propaganda and reminders to ship owners, captains, union members and workers on fishing vessels under the trade union on some contents as follows:
Proactively monitor and update developments on storms and extreme weather on mass media, coastal information stations to proactively prevent, avoid and minimize damage caused by thunderstorms, tornadoes, storms, and tropical depressions.
Regularly inspect materials, equipment, communication systems, safety equipment, hull systems, main engines, auxiliary engines and safety of fishing vessels to promptly detect and handle to ensure safety before going to sea. Prepare necessary spare materials in the process of production at sea.
In the process of operating at sea, regularly contact fishing boats and trade unions, production teams at sea operating in the same fishing grounds to promptly support each other when necessary. Promptly report to functional forces for support in emergency and necessary situations at sea...
