Prosecution of 6 cases related to work-related accidents in Quang Ninh in 2025
Quang Ninh - The provincial Department of Home Affairs has just reported on the labor accident situation in 2025, in which a number of individuals involved in fatal accidents have been prosecuted.
According to reports and statistics in 2025, the labor accident situation in Quang Ninh province will continue to be controlled, reducing both the number of cases and the number of victims compared to 2024.
The whole province had 568 work accidents, causing 579 victims, a decrease of 21 cases (3.5%) and a decrease of 33 victims (5.4%).
Of which, there were 35 deaths in work accidents, killing 38 people, reducing 7 cases (16.6%) and 13 deaths (25.4%) compared to the previous year.
There were 339 serious work accidents, causing 347 serious injuries; 194 minor work accidents, causing 194 minor injuries, all down from 2024.
In particular, enterprises under the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group in the province had 8 fatal work accidents, killing 10 people, significantly reducing both the number of cases and the number of deaths.
In the labor-related area, businesses in the province have had 560 labor accidents, causing 571 victims; including 27 fatal labor accidents, killing 30 people, reducing 10 cases and 16 deaths compared to 2024.
Some serious labor accidents, such as the electrocution at Bistro fou Bar ( Bai Chay) that killed 2 people and injured 3 others; the CH4 gas fire at the Khe Tam Coal mining Project that killed 3 workers and injured 2 others.
In 2025, the cost of damage caused by work-related accidents in the province will be more than 55.6 billion VND, including medical expenses, salary payment during treatment and compensation and subsidies for victims.
Analysis of fatal labor accidents shows that accidents are mainly caused by machinery and equipment pressing and hitting; electrical gusting; falling; landslides and gas fires in underground coal mining. The areas where many fatal labor accidents occurred included construction, mineral exploitation, transportation and ship repair.
For the non-contractual labor sector, in 2025, there will be 8 labor accidents that will kill 8 people, an increase compared to 2024, mainly in civil construction.
Through the investigation of labor accidents, the authorities have proposed 87 remedies and disciplined 51 individuals; administratively fined 4 enterprises with a total amount of 138 million VND and prosecuted 6 cases related to violations of regulations on labor safety and hygiene.
