Students get tuition reduced when their father or mother receives occupational accident benefits
The Ministry of Education and Training has just informed about the regulations on tuition reduction for students when their father or mother receives occupational accident benefits.
Student D.'s father (Vinh Long) is a person with severe disabilities due to work-related accidents and is receiving monthly allowances.
So, students who are studying at public universities will receive a tuition reduction?
Regarding this issue, the Ministry of Education and Training responded as follows:
Clause 2, Article 16 of Decree No. 238/2025/ND-CP dated September 3, 2025 of the Government regulating tuition fees, tuition exemption, reduction, tuition support, support for study costs and service prices in the field of education and training stipulates subjects eligible for a 50% tuition reduction, including:
"Students and students in vocational training institutions and higher education institutions whose father or mother has a work accident or a vocational disease are entitled to receive regular allowances".
Thus, in the case of students with D., students are requested to submit a complete application for tuition reduction under the category of father or mother having a work accident or occupational disease issued by the Social Insurance agency to the educational institution as prescribed in Clause 3, Article 18 of Decree No. 238/2025/ND-CP to be considered for the policy.
