Hai Phong strengthens labor safety supervision at construction sites
Hai Phong City People's Committee requests departments, branches, and localities to strengthen inspection and supervision of compliance with regulations on construction safety; strictly handle violations to prevent labor accidents and construction incidents in the area.
Recently, in the city, existing unsafe situations were recorded at construction sites, directly affecting the lives of workers and people.
One of the events that caused public uproar occurred at the intersection of level crossing No. 3 of An Duong Industrial Park. At this time, an excavator was pulling a steel cable across the road. Mr. M.T. D (born in 1995, residing in Hung Yen, a worker in the copper pipe department, Sanhua Vietnam Co., Ltd.) was on his way from the company to his rented house in Cach Thuong, An Duong, Hai Phong. Mr. D passed through a road section under construction pulling cables without warning signs, so the cable got caught in his neck and caused a fatal accident.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of the Sanhua Company Trade Union said that the police agency is investigating the accident caused by cables, causing Mr. D's tragic death. The Trade Union also proposed that the Hai Phong City Labor Federation have opinions and recommendations to relevant functional agencies on ensuring safety at construction sites near the industrial park area.
Faced with the reality of labor accidents and the risk of unsafety at construction sites, Hai Phong City People's Committee has requested relevant agencies and units to strengthen management and inspection measures to prevent incidents and protect the lives of workers.
Recently, Standing Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee Le Anh Quan gave instructions in Document No. 7277/VP-XDCT, assigning departments, agencies, branches, project management boards under the City People's Committee and commune-level People's Committees to promote propaganda, dissemination, and guidance on construction safety regulations to organizations and individuals operating in the construction sector in the area.
Units strengthen the inspection of compliance with legal regulations on safety, occupational hygiene, construction, fire prevention and fighting and rescue at construction sites. These are areas with many potential risks, especially in the context of many infrastructure projects, urban areas, and industrial parks being implemented simultaneously in the city.
The City People's Committee requests agencies and units to resolutely and strictly handle cases of violations of regulations on labor safety and construction safety.
